Only very serious music enthusiasts may listen. For AfroPop and House people can dance to the songs if the beats are great even though they don't understand.
This problem is not only in the music industry. Nigerians used to really love MultiTv but now it's filled with Twi stations nobody understands so its popularity has waned. I believe it's the same in other African countries.
You have to speak a language people understand if you want to be globally competitive.

The vast majority of people in most european countries are not fluent in english yet they mostly listen to music in english language. I also do not to be able to speak patois in order to listen to reggae/dancehall music.

I wish all our young men and women would seek out role models like this man here.The only time I have heard him raise his voice is in a song to lift Ghana.I think we could use him in Ghana movies.He certainly has the typecast ... read full comment
