Adjoa Foriwaa is my mother. She lost her husband after her fourth child. She refused to marry again and so had to single handedly take care of us four to go to school. selling firewood, pepper from her farm, salt, fish and sometimes farming on peoples farms as a labourer she paid our school fees and gave us bread to fill our constantly empty voids.
She would whisper to us every early dawn to be serious in school and study hard so that our late father would be happy with us while he rested in heaven.

She has thus through suffering produced two graduate teachers, a nurse and a public servant/farmer.

By Ghanaian standards our mother cannot be considered influential because she is illiterate.
