I have keenly followed this lady with 'keen' interest. First, as an actress, the 'dumsor' comedian, the pseudo-political activist, a philosopher with an added interest in psychology.(a journalist of some sort)

What am reading from her this time is an attempt at being a marriage expert, kind of a quack counselor.

Apparently, this lady, in short, I've come to believe has an insatiable love, a propensity for curiosity, attention and cheap popularity. This is perhaps, or probably to compensate for her short-comings via her large body size that most men suitors frowns at.Too mean. Self conceited which is currently preventing her from getting roles in the acting business.

She is now erroneously professing to be very 'large' in terms of academics, money and fame. So much that, she sees no need to sell her liberties to a man known as "husband" who perhaps, traditionally, have been tagged the head of the household-A recognition she doesn't want to recognize, observe and or contain.

She claims some 'rites of passage' have been inappropriately by way of tradition sold to her. She cannot deny the fact that, the child is always born good but empty. It is the society that corrupts the child. It is this same society that, from time immemorial has given young girls reaching womanhood the ultimatum to marry men they choose for them- love or no love, security or lack of.

Young women should marry as a way of following the societal norm as studiously and religiously as necessary.

What Lydia refuses to be conversant with is that, there is no such thing as the right-man or the right woman when it comes to marriage. Marrying a poor man/woman, marrying an ugly person, marrying from outside one's tribe bears no significance in marital life. It is very incumbent on any soul of the world, I mean, everybody, including Sister Lydia Forson to marry at some point in life. Refusal or failure to do so is an abomination, as well asa contrary to the principles and teachings of the Bible. A travesty in the religious vain."Obi nkyer3 akwadaa Nyame"-One is tempted to pick that feel as we undergo thru a sum total of human growth and experiences.
Lydia cannot deny this.

I often hear of women who believes God is the provider of appropriate partners. "Awade3,owuo ne awoO, Onyame na Ode ma" (That's a white blanket lie)

However, with tonnes of crises in marriages that ends in distasteful divorces consummated in churches overseen by the God almighty. How credible could that be. Lydia also ignores the fact that personality as defined by society is the perception it beholds on every individual.
Lydia as I know her is a smart person, intelligent, very beautiful and poised to succeed in life. However, taking a man out of her equation,out of the normal compartment of nature, eg. protecting procreation as pertains in the bible makes her vulnerable, as well as susceptible to her life as a human being. At the end of the day, onme has become nobody.

My Dear Lydia, your lamentations are truly genuine I dare say that they are not new. The wise man Solomon expressed similar feelings in the book of Ecclesiastes but this happened after he had lost his way in life i.e. abandoned God to live life his own way. I am married and I can tell you that my experience of marriage is a far cry from what you've described. Challenges? Yes, we have both faced a lot, yet, we keep overcoming. All because, we have chosen to do it the Creator's way and not our way or society's way. The creator in His own wisdom and out of His abundant love for us did not leave us to wallow in the sea of despair while navigating through life. He has revealed His ways to us and has also shown us what to do to achieve or maintain a purposeful, successful and happy life. If only we will obey, we will experience all that He has already ordained for us. We cannot plant lemons and expect to harvest oranges. If things are not going according to God's promised plans, we need to take a long pause, re-examine ourselves and ways to see if we are still on the right track or not. Doing that will greatly help us a lot. In addition, for us to enjoy all the pleasures of marriage (and even life in general), we need to grow or advance into maturity. Kids make rash decisions and no wonder they are susceptible to problems. Sacrificing certain previous selfish needs for another person we love is not a death sentence as you call it; it is called love, selflessness and devotion. But such virtues are not common among kids; only matured people can express them because they take conscious effort. It is therefore not surprising that marriage is not for "kids", it is for the matured. I conclude with this verse from scripture "when I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man [or woman], I put the ways of childhood behind me (1 Cor. 13:11). I share this out of love for you all. God bless.

There is also nothing wrong in teaching each other what we like or prefer especially in kissing or how we want to be treated passionately. A lot of relationships suffer because both parties are not willing to learn or be taught. Yes the conditions on the roads could be improved and a pedestrian is better off wearing reflective gear but one could still be knocked down all the same. I really doubt if you know yourself that well. Because if you did you would already know what kind of man or marriage would best suit you and would be in it by now.Our journey in this life is a learning curve that steeps at the point you surrender your life to Christ and let Him take control of it for you because girl, if you try to do it all by yourself you can be rest assured that whatever decision you make by yourself will lead you to a futile end.
