A genuine African dress would be the camisole, the wrap, the over-wrap and the headwrap.

We have such incredible inferiority complex, it is sad. I mean I love her outfit to death, because she looks good in it, and it isn't over zealous. Unnecessary prints and every freaking color in the spectrum, but for us Africans to always associate beautiful indigenous style to Africanness is disgusting. We are not at war with western fashion, and most fashions are universally unique, just because somebody started it first does not mean I cannot wear Armani Suits or Ralph Lauren. Like white people really care about our fashion struggles. Why do we force ourselves to be African when in fact most of the stuff we do is mediocre and substandard.She looks good in it, but I won't go out with her dressed like that, just not my taste. To be African does not mean I have to suck up to tastelessness and all those blinding colors.
