Okyehene is a King not a chief. There are so many districts within his traditional area. Akyems are divided into Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku and Akyem Bosome. Akyem Abuakwa is the largest and is headed by Okyehene or Akyemhene. The Abuakwa constituencies must not be confused with the traditional area. There are only two Abuakwa constituencies but Akyems occupy the the largest chunk of the Eastern Region
