Akufo Addo was able to tolerate the NDC / AfareGyan theft of his electoral victory in 2012. Remember Mahama was declared victorious by a margin of just about 300,000 votes accounted for to a large extent by the 270,000 non-existent votes Afare Gyan smuggled in from Qualified Ghanaians resident abroad. The rest came from "27 0", The "Finger of God" and Pink Sheets with same serial numbers. Remember that Mahama became President through fraud, which Akufo Addo tolerated so that Ghana would continue to enjoy peace. This man of peace is not like Mahama who urges Northerners to vote for Northners only, and then goes on to steal an election. Manama is the divisive one, not Nana.

For the first time in Ghana, we have a sitting President who was mercilessly bludgeoned to death with Mahama going about saying a certain tribe had been Vice President for so long and it was time for them to also become President. The jury is still out as to who did the actual bludgeoning, although a former national organizer of the NDC has stated categorically he has the tapes of how it went down. Actually in Mahama's recent campaign launch in Cape Coast he was asked who killed the late Atta Mills.
As a result of division and the intolerance of Mahama, the Co-Founder of the NDC party has formed another party. The criticism by the Founder of the NDP party and a former Co-Founder of the NDC, has seen Mahama sending his goons with guns to silence her in her own home, as if she is afraid of Mahama.
Division, intolerance and lack of respect on the part of Mahama played out on the world stage and locally, when the NDC Founder had occasion to rebuke Mahama and a strong member of his faction Hanna Tetteh, for the gross disrespect that was shown to his Vice, during the Mayor's conference held not so long ago in Accra.
The litany of examples and stories of Mahama's divisiveness, his intolerance, is so huge it could literally sink the Titanic twice over.
This is not an individual who can lecture or speak on anything that has to do with intolerance or divisiveness and hold a moral high ground.
What he fails to appreciate is that in the NPP every life matter.
Maybe in their NDC party when one bludgeons a sitting President to death, it can be glossed over as if nothing has happened based on the history and the values that formed their party.
Perhaps, maybe it does have some influence in the recent threats to rape and kill the Chief Justice and Judges of Ghana as a result of the intolerance and inability to withstand criticism and divergent views based on the merits of the argument of Mahama.
However in the NPP because they value life and appreciate what it means, a healthy and rigorous debate which results in the death of anybody is the most repulsive act and the NPP party stands together to ostracize that abhorrent conduct in the party and all its manifestations. And if because of that, Akufo Addo would be regarded as intolerant and divisive, then for the sake of the life of every Ghanaian which matters, including that of sitting President's then it is a trait very much appreciated, unlike Mahama, who sends goons to kill critics, goons who publicly plan to kill because of intolerance. That right there is dictatorship and that is why Mahama has lost the elections. The difference is very clear.
The day Mahama will learn not to send goons to kill critics as a result of his intolerance and divisiveness and the day, the NDC party would begin to appreciate the lives of Ghanaians and ostracize elements who will shockingly bludgeon to death a sitting President then Mahama can think of talking about intolerance, divisiveness and dictatorship. He has no locus and he must sit down.
