It could well be legionnaires caused by legionella pneumophilia which is pneumonia-like and not taken seriously in Ghana. In most countries there are related legislations which hotels, industries etc. must comply with but in Ghana the disease is rarely mentioned.

I presume they were giving him anti malarial drugs instead of antibotics.Next time a fever persists, people should know that other microorganisms besides plasmodium can cause it.
