Ghana has arguably the best crop of young producers on the continent. They're paid to work and so have to do what the musicians want. I don't blame the musicians too because they have to sell. Ghanaians keep saying they want good music but musicians who provide that like Chase, Irene Logan, Adina, Raquel, Knii Lante etc don't get as much recognition as the ones that sing "rubbish". Can we now say Ghanaians don't know what they really want.

I agree with Gideon, but the artistes are not helping either. Are they listening to the producers? Isn't the producers providing what the artistes are demanding. Most Ghanaian artistes don't have any idea about the music industry and are having identity crisis. It's business like any other industry, and it takes planning. Always think about how youre going to sell your product or at least create a demand for your product! Some have no idea about their strengths and weaknesses as far as genre is concerned. Today you're hiphop, tomorrow your azonto or hiplife; next week you're highlife, next month you're Jamaican or Nigerian!! a year later you're back to AfroSoul. Always following the wind? Brand building takes consistency, and TIME!!
