Very unbearable traffic to the extent that cars moving from tema to achimota have to be in traffic with cars branching off to 37 hospital. And he sits comfortably in his house and looks at the mess he has created for motorist? Is he Kuffuor proud of that bridge at such a busy junction? The Nkrumah interchange is simply the best so far in Ghana though not the world. Lets give praise where it is due.

The Tetteh Quarshie interchange was designed originally as a two-tier interchange. It was to be built with a loan from the AfDB. The work had already started when unfortunately the NPP came to power. Kuffuor decided that he wanted a mall right smack in the middle of the project area. The very place that would have routed traffic from spintex and made our lives a little easy. In his bestial selfishness he scrapped the second-tier and made it single. To rub salt into the wounds of those who truly know the story of this interchange from the very beginning, his propaganda machine went on a lying spree accusing the former government of having stolen the money for the construction. Anybody who knows how these loans are disbursed and how the AfDB does business also knows that they never hand government the cash directly for such a project and so government could not have squandered what it did not have access to. Kuffuor stopped the project cut it in half and when we woke up one day a brand new monster called a mall stood right in the middle of highway. Amd that, my friends, is the reason why that place is still choked with traffic. There was even speculation that they didnt want to finish the project in its original design because it would make the NDC look good in opposition and injure a Kuffuor presidency. They also cancelled the agreement with the AfDB and conveniently found other sources of funding just to entrench their ill motives. And these people have the nerve to criticize anything that will make our lives just that much better.

Hmm, indeed these things only go to buttress the fact that humans are really different from each other, when, such a flaw as that interchange at TQuarshie stares at all of us, yet the creators of that thing have the guts to make such insulting and annoying statements about Nkrumah interchange. Travel out of Ghana and compare with Singapore and you will realize that we should be aim higher than just this first interchange. We should have dual carriage motorways connecting out 3 main cities, a fist class airport, a descent railway. But to celebrate one project and refuse to acknowledge the flaws show the level of our exception. The grass should look quality, and the drainage system first class. We should move away from mediocrity and aim for world class infrastructure and corruption

A sensible person would have compared the interchange with any current one in Ghana. But because they know Kuffour wasted a beautiful land at Tetteh Kwashie to put up a disgraceful interchange with a road leading to his house direct, you are comparing it to other country's.
Find out how much Tetteh Quarshie circle cost compared to this new flyover and come again.

An uncompleted construction site may not look very appealing until all the debris is cleared.
By making a political statement with an construction project, remember you are denigrating the professionalism of the constructing firm. It might bite you in the tail later on, if called upon to point out the low quality part of the works.

Compare this interchange with the one at Tetteh Quashie! Many people do not know that Flt. Lt JJ Rawlings secured an ADB loan of 21m dollars before leaving office. The original plan and drawing was for a three-tier interchange. Come in Kufour and his NPP and they claim the project cost was too much and so they change the original three-tier plan to a two-tier interchange. That is the course of the commotion at the location today. But for a few modifications by the Mills and Mahama's administrations the place would have been a no go area today. Think before you talk.
