Mankessim, Elmina continued from Akrokyere when they left Tekyiman to their current places. We had Adansi, before Denkyira. Okomfo Anokye created the Asanteman which was a replica of Adansi, the only group with one king. All other sub-groups are independent.

For us not to lose touch which our traditions, it is important that the different traditions of the tribes in Ghana should be taught in schools, depending on the district where each school is sited. A department of cultural studies should be established within the Ministry of Education and senior males and females who are well versed in traditional matters be employed to teach in different schools.Many of us have even forgotten our dances and customs and have copied disgusting western norms in the name of "civilisation".
