The money which Agya Koo is fighting over to have his share is a One Million Ghana Cedis (GH¢1,000,000) fund which has been set aside by the Akufo-Addo-led Government to be accessed by the various recognized member associations within the Creative Arts Industry — and in this case the Actors Guild of Ghana of which Agya Koo is not a member.
However, because the purpose for which the fund — which is a collection of a levy on music-movie related products like computers, CDs, pendrives etc. imported into the country — is set aside has never been realized practically since its inception by the NDC government in the past years, it (the fund) has always been seen as “election money” given to the “foot-soldiers” of the ruling government within the Creative Arts member associations for sharing hence the many issues always emerging out of it.
