First, those here attacking Peter Edochie on the basis of their understanding of him as prescribing this method for Ghana have misunderstood the man! He is not prescribing this method of tackling corruption for Ghana alone; he is prescribing it for the whole of Africa! And rightly so!

Second, resorting to swearing before the gods as a way of fighting corruption may seem outlandish! But such seemingly outlandish approach to the problem is being called for by both the equally outrageous extent the canker of corruption has grown and pervaded the continent and the spinelessness and hypocrisy of the leaders in fighting it!

Consider, for example, the case of Ghana under the Fourth Republic! The supposed fight against corruption so far has been a big joke! If the political leaders are not unashamedly rationalising it by declaring that it has been in existence since Adam, then they are overlooking it by playing the nonsense of father-for-all and the hypocrisy of asomdwehene!

Finally, in our supposed war against corruption so far, using our rather dishonest and weak methods, corruption has won! In other words, corruption has proved not to be scared of the methods we have been applying so far in the war! It, thus, makes sense to try a new method which is scary and deadly even if it is outrageous. Such a method can never ever be more outrageous than the deaths and agonies that corruption has caused! We don't have anything to lose by trying it!

If you find the idea or method stupid, I say to you that sometimes stupid practices call for stupid measures to tackle them as long as they are effective! Corruption is such a canker destroying us such that if it will take a stupid measure to tackle it efficiently and effectively, then it is good!
