Manasseh's piece is greatly acknowledged and well spoken. However, when the same reasoning was applied to him, he comes around explaining himself.
Did he take enough time to know why The African CEOs decided to host their event in Europe? The number of indigenous African in Europe who will benefit from the meeting? Apart from the hotel issue he raised, can he account for the number of African businesses in Europe whose products and services will be used?
The world is a global village, with technology at our disposal. They could have even decided to do Skype or conference call meeting, and still meet their agenda. For them to have it in Europe, and not in Africa, should clearly show who their targets were (foreign investors). Manasseh should have been fair enough to also bring out the facts of African businesses in Europe who will likewise benefit.

Granted that all the benefits you have mentioned will really accrue to African CEOs in Geneva, wouldn't the benefits to Africa and her CEOs be even greater if this was organised in an African city. By the way, what is the proportion of African businesses in Geneva, as compared to say Kenya, SA, Lagos, Accra, etc.

You even don't know who the organizers were, their targets and their motivation. Of the five conferences one has been held in Ivory Coast - the 4th edition in 2015.
