I feel what the writer is feeling. I am in far away Kidal - Mali, at the war zone. I have hundreds of Shatta Wale music; it keeps me inspired and focused. I come online everyday to check if there are stories about him and I defend him as much as I can.

Years past, all that dominated the Ghanaian airwaves was Nigerian music and stories about their artistes, but that has changed ever since Shatta's rebirth. He has managed to always have control of the media space by constantly churning out music and news, just to make sure that there will be no resurgence of the foreign invasion. He has not been greedy. He has tried to share this with other musicians and industry players through his beefs and collaborations. People get the needed attention when they are involved with Shatta in anyway; positive or negative. All they need to do is to take advantage of the attention to release hit songs but unfortunately some of them are not talented or hard working enough.

My colleagues here from Liberia and other African countries listen to him and always ask me lots of questions. they want to know about Korlegono, kasoa, Nima, kotobabi and all the other names and places he mentions in his songs. That's the idea. He is selling Ghana to the world through his music. We call him local in Ghana because of these thing,s but those people outside Ghana wish to visit those places any time they are in Ghana.

People can call him 'local champion' but how can you play 'champions league' if you are first not champion in your country? Just watch Shatta Wale in Gabon on youtube and you will be better informed. This is what Davido said after R. Kelly did a cover of his song if: "Crazyyy! The legend, R Kelly remixed ‘IF’! I’m honoured. Stay true to your culture. They will come"! This is exactly what Shatta is doing. Keeping to his culture and the sky is the limit. keep calling him local champion.

My only disappointment recently is when I read the headline: "Shatta begs to be part of the VGMA". Then I said to myself: he is the King and he knows best. he has never been wrong so far, and I believe he knows what he is doing. SM 4 lyf!!!!
