As Ghanaians continue to wonder when Kumawood actor, the late Bishop Bernard Nyarko would be laid to rest, his elder brother, Isaac Darko has announced that it certainly would be after the ban on social gatherings is lifted.

In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb at the one-week celebration of Bishop Bernard Nyarko in Accra, he indicated that the “date is yet to be slated for the funeral rites due to the coronavirus. The family is waiting for the president to lift the ban on public gathering before we take a firm decision”.

This would allow family members, actors, actresses, sympathizers to witness the funeral of their late brother and friend.

On Saturday, May 9, 2020, many Kumawood actors and actresses gathered at Bishop Bernard Nyarko’s family house at Ashaley Botwe to observe the one-week celebration of their colleague who passed on May 2, 2020 at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.

The sympathizers visited the family in batches in a bid to observe the 25 persons for a funeral directive by president Akufo-Addo.

There was a heavy police presence to ensure that social gathering and other safety precautionary measures were observed.

Lauding the police for their service, Isaac Darko noted that “everything has been successful. The police came because of the COVID-19 to ensure that everything would be in place. We are not above the law and I love how the police has ensured that people move to the house in batches”.

Meanwhile, he indicated that his brother did a natural death stating that, “God calls mankind at his own appointed time because bibl makes it clear that God has already scheduled everyone’s death”.
