The Auditor-General on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 submitted ten reports to the Parliament of Ghana.

This action taken by the Auditor-General’s Department is in fulfilment of Articles 184, 187 of the constitution as well as Sections 11 and 13 of the Audit Service Act 2000, Act 584.

Among the report is the public account for the financial year ended December 31, 2018.

It also includes accounting for the internally generated fund as well as a statement on foreign exchange receipts and payments of the bank of Ghana.

In a Press Release signed by the Assistant Director of Auditor-General, Ama Awotwe-Bosumafi it noted that pre-educational institutions, Technical, Polytechnics Universities for last year have their reports recorded.

Often it is in these reports that public officials who embezzle state resources are named and shamed. It waits to be seen if any persons or institutions will be implicated in the report.

The Auditor-General, Mr. Domelevo last year applied to the Attorney General to grant him prosecutorial powers to haul persons indicted in his report before the court.

The statement further called on both the general public and stakeholders involved to get copies of the reports submitted to parliament today to get abreast of the information enshrined in the document.
