Addressing party supporters during the recent NDC unity walk in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, Ex-President John Mahama described the Akuffo Addo government as super incompetent, and at his usual wits teased Nana Akoffo Addo and his NPP government that they needed Obinim sticker to enable them to perform miracles to manage the economy well.

These are some of the usual political gimmicks, and any political analysts can testify to that.

Suddenly, one unknown Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei purported to be a Deputy Minister of Information in the current NPP government started attacking President Mahama left and right and from all angles on social media for describing the Akuffo Addo government as super incompetent.

When I read about Nana Ama Dokua’s tantrums, I asked myself the following questions:

Who is this Deputy Minister of Information? When did Nana Akuffo Addo nominate her as a Deputy Minister? Did she go through a vetting process in Ghana’s parliament or another country’s parliament? Was she approved by Ghana’s parliament? Has she got an office in Ghana? Is she being paid with the tax payer’s money? Has she got a Police bodyguard? Is she living in a government bungalow? Is she using a state vehicle and drawing free petrol or diesel with a government employed driver? Finally, is she living in Ghana or elsewhere in another country?

That name did not ring a bell as a current NPP government appointee, not even an NPP foot soldier. I decided to make a little search on this excuse me to say “deaf and dumb” Deputy Minister of Information, and lo and behold, I found out that she is even a Member of Parliament for the Akropong Akwapem Constituency in the Eastern Region. Haba! Honourable!

Initially, I thought I was not abreast with current affairs in Ghana so I decided to enquire from some friends if they had any knowledge of a Deputy Minister of Information with the name, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei. They were equally dumbfounded and did not have the slightest idea who that Deputy Minister of Information was. Deputy Minister of WHAT?

After almost sixteen months of the NPP administration, this so called Deputy Minister of Information and a Member of Parliament has never been known to the Ghanaian public even though she is drawing salary from the government consolidated purse. So where was she all these sixteen months?

Look at how Mustapha Hamid, the Minister of Information and his Deputy, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah are always struggling to project the image of the NPP government and its policies. Yet this Nana Ama Dokua was in hibernation with her lips sealed with plaster of paris (POP) not even able to sell NPP government’s “Planting for Food and Jobs” programme to the people of Ghana. May be she was on maternity leave. As for that, she can be forgiven. But if that was not the case then Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei is a useless, unproductive, redundant, and good for nothing Deputy Minister and a Member of Parliament. She is just a “jarah” to the 110 NPP ministers of state.

I could have forgiven her if she was a Deputy Minister of any other portfolio, but as a Deputy Minister of Information, the mouth-piece of the government, it is naught, naught, and naught.

Nana Ama Dokua must thank President Mahama for bringing her out of hibernation. She can best be described as the Deputy Minister of Information in charge of President Mahama.

I believe by now voters in Akropong Akwapem have regretted electing such a nonentity to represent them in Parliament. I would not be surprised if she becomes the first victim of any ministerial reshuffle by the President, Nana Akuffo Addo. I don’t even think the President should wait for any reshuffle before showing her the exit.

Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, you are a disaster to the NPP government and your constituency as well as women of Ghana. You have disgraced those who followed you to Parliament during your vetting process. Go to Felix Kwakye-Fosu, the former Deputy Minister of Information in the NDC government to teach you how to become a productive Deputy Minister of Information. NPP’s Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC can better handle your position.

I have no qualms with you for going after Prez Mahama. As long as he has the right to criticize the NPP government, you also have the right to criticize him. My problem with you is that you are a disaster to the NPP government for not living up to expectation as a government spokesperson.

I strongly believe some top NPP gurus are not happy with your poor performance as a government spokesperson but they can’t complain for fear of victimization. Deputy Minister of Information position is a very serious and important portfolio in the successful running of government business not a beauty pageant with a pancake painted face.

Anyway that is the result of jobs for the “boys and girls”.
