The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr says the Electoral Commission cannot compile a new voters' register so long as COVID-19 restrictions have not been lifted.
"We don’t know when the restrictions will be done away with; so if these restrictions are still in place, you cannot compile a new voters register…," he indicated.
The EC says plans are far advanced to compile a new voters' register while observing safety protocols to prevent COVID-19 infections
However, there are a lot of skeptics who think it will be unsafe to compile a new voters' register while the nation is trying to battle COVID-19.
Kwesi Pratt reacting to this while speaking on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' wondered "why is the EC insisting on compiling a new register when you don’t know when the restrictions will be lifted. You cannot conduct a new voters' register in this current state of COVID 19. If the restrictions are not lifted, it will be impossible to compile a new voters’ register".
