It is good to make the effort to call on Ghanaians to wake up from their sleep in believing the likes of master conmen like TBJ. But to me, you are still clearly in a serious slumber yourself, the root of the problem.

It is good to make the effort to call on Ghanaians to wake up from their sleep in believing the likes of master conmen like TBJ. But to me, you are still clearly in a serious slumber yourself, the root of the problem.

First, it is not only Nigerian charlatans and conmen who are duping Ghanaians; there are Ghanaian charlatans and conmen too. The Nigerians just happen to be more effective and rapacious in what they do, taking advantage of the deep-seated superstitious nature of Ghanaians to believe that anything spiritual or supernatural from the east is more portent, be it Christianity, juju or voodoo! So while those to the west of the Volta River believe that stronger juju comes from the east of the Volta in the VR, those in the VR believe that stronger juju is further to the east in Togo and Benin Rep! Funnily, those there also believe that stronger juju comes from within Nigeria, with Ijebu Ode being the centre piece!

Secondly, you are also steeped in the belief of this god, god, Jesus is the lord nonsense. You are right that even a PhD in Physics or any of the natural sciences does not bestow knowledge of spiritual matters on one. Yes, if you didn't research and investigate those religious claims as found in the Bible and the Qu'ran, you'd just be an ignoramus who might belief in those claims. Above all, if you haven't undergone the decisive transformation of your cosmogony and cosmology through rational education and the socialisation processes that underpin a scientific approach to viewing nature and the cosmos around us, no amount of degrees and Phds you hold can liberate you from the strictures of the world in supernatural terms we have been brought up with in our African societies in particular. From birth to death, it is all spirits, demons, and witches for us! So in spite of everything we learn in school, from Archaelogy to Zoology, which contradict most of the claims in the Bible and Qu'ran about the origins of the cosmos, we still have a most of the so-called educated Africans believing all the nonsense and falsehood in those two pernicious books which continue to reek so much havoc in Africa! Waking up from that mind-numbing slumber is what we must call for. So wake up yourself!

Jock, the painter, often would thin his paint so it would go further. So when the Church decided to do some deferred maintenance, Jock was able to put in the low bid, and got the job. As always, he thinned his paint way down with turpentine.

One day while he was up on the scaffolding -- the job almost finished -- he heard a horrendous clap of thunder, and the sky opened.

The downpour washed the thinned paint off the church and knocked Jock off his scaffold and onto the lawn among the gravestones and puddles of thinned and worthless paint.

Jock knew this was a warning from the Almighty, so he got on his knees and cried: “Oh, God! Forgive me! What should I do?”

And from the thunder, a mighty voice: “REPAINT! REPAINT! AND THIN NO MORE!”
