  very PERTINENT COMMENTS BUT Kofi should have provided a better balanced by recognizing the good of many other journalists without compromising the essence of his valid points. He has nevertheless provided a lot of food for thought by the GJA and the Ghana School of Journalism, among others.

  Sometimes also, it's the fault of voters who do not take the trouble to delve deeply behind the headline grabbing political statements.Hence people get fed mediocrity.

  I made a comment about foreigners ruining Ghana especially Nigerians getting Ghana passports getting visa in the name of Ghana and committing crimes in Europe and other foreign countries. they contribute in ruining Ghana. but they removed my post> I live in London and I know lots of them I particularly don't like Nigerians only because of their wicked ways not saying Ghanaians are perfect but we should do something about it before its too late> Ghana is taking things very lightly when it comes to the future of real Ghanaians. too much corruption that's why useless educated people taking advantage of the countries wealth and its people.

  Seems to us your problem has more to do with the people controlling the government, those making decisions and spending the public purse, than newspaper publishers who own a press, including those you may want to publish your article possibly as a public service.
  
  Now, we could understand if you were talking about newspaper publishers and other media employed by the government, and paid by the people.
  
  But, your article is not about that either, is it?
  
  Our sense is, the "incompetent individuals" are in government.
  
  In fact, they are worse than incompetent. Many of them are thieves who steal or grab from the people every day.
  
  Yet, we can't get the government to be more serious about Asset Declaration, the Freedom of Information Bill, or adopt revisions to the Constitution with warts bigger than goliath frogs.
  
  And yes, goliath frogs have better reputations than these "leaders", some of whom sit in judicial chairs, including the Supreme Court, judging by recent happenings.
  
  Sadly, these pseudo-leaders are prodded on and enabled by multitudes of Ghanaians who do not have any sense of citizenship and are prone to accepting any thing they do without critical thought, or attention.
  
  Sorry, Kofi Thompson, you "missed the road" in this instance.

  How are the mighty falling! Our media in Ghana is our biggest headache now and I wish some tyrant would appear on the scene and wield the big stick against them. Enough is enough.
