It is wholly nonsensical for the so-called AFAG, a strongly NPP-leaning body which has lost its credibility as a force for good in Ghana to be calling for Dr Afari Gyan;s head.

First of all, the electoral commissioner called it right when he declared the results. The actions of AFAG which is a proxy propaganda campaign on behalf of ht e NPP and the numerous irresponsible and dangerous posturings and writings of NPP supporting 'intellectuals' is nothing but a smokescreen. This supports the arguments of those who have said all along that the NPP acted in bad faith by pursuing a bogus petition.

That the NPP lost the election is without question and for them to have expected justices to annul (and even in two cases call for votes to be deducted and transferred to declare Nana Addo winner of the elections) is the most bizarre 'expression' of democracy and would have been the most serious miscarriage of justice anywhere.

I really do not care what these chaps think, but what I do mind is their attempt to insult the intentions of the good people of Ghana who favoured the president and not their candidate. The fact that they cannot accept this despite their hypocritical statements about "accepting the verdict" is quite disheartening.

Through their surrogates, and as a clear demonstration of their lack of good political leadership, they are putting our all sorts of accusations and thereby making a complete fool of themselves.

I would urge the Ghanaian electorate to take note of this continuing attempt of people affiliated with the NPP to destabilise our peaceful country and their relentless attempts to undermine the legitimacy of the president of the republic.

How and why could any sensible person vote for a party which cannot and will not learn to accept defeat the polls? All over the world parties win and lose elections and learn to accept the situation except for this lot it appears.

Dr Afari Gyan has led the EC with distinction and despite the administrative lapses which occurred, but which in fact DID NOT AFFECT the vote tally nor disenfranchise anyone from exercising their constitutional right, overall they did a far better job in two days than the shambles of the electoral petition where for eight months, the petitioners could not even get their sums right and the justices who voted in their favour for votes to be transferred could not even add up and worse still could not defend their bogus positions and ruling.

I have followed these events of the last to weeks with frustration and much irritation realising that these chaps will simply not let sleeping dogs lie, but wish to continue to stoke the flames in the hope of creating an unstable situation for the government to do its business. It is shameful and a complete disgrace.

Do these people simply want to rule over us and nothing else matters? There has been NO INJUSTICE incurred by the NPP candidate and if we follow actual votes cast, the incumbent won fairly and cleanly and did not need the help of anyone. If anything, he the president was in danger of losing what was a clear win because of lapses on the part of electoral officials.

Therefore for anyone (justices included) go think that they can stand on flawed technical arguments and break the very constitution in order to bring their own candidate into office via the back door, they are completely mistaken and I know Ghanaians will not stand for this nonsense.

It is about time this nonsense of a debate was brought to a halt and we moved on to address the bread and butter issues confronting the country.

Simply leave Dr Afari Gyan alone. I can guarantee that none of these idiots has a CV anywhere close to that of Dr Gyan and they should simply shut up for it is they, AFAG and their ilk who lack credibility, not Dr Gyan.

Fact is the EC boss has demonstrated to the nation that his work is not a level that matches the desired outcome in a growing democracy such as Ghana.

I believe civil society groups and majority of decent Ghanaians whose very lives depend on peace and security, good governance, econimic development of the Country, creation of jobs, etc must rise up and isolate these minority criminal gangs holding the Country to ransom. The Security Services must be on top of their game as i can foresee a delibrate attempt by these elements to cause mayhem and quickly turn to blame it on others. The reason is simple. They have lost the election, the Supreme Court saw through their lies and threw out the case, and with no credibility left, all they can do is fight everybody from Obansajo, Pres. Yayi Bonni, Dr. Afari Gyan, and now the very Supreme Court they have run to. I humbly,urge the President not to be distracted by the attacks that will soon intensify but, must focussed on the job. He should listen and be nice to everyone as he always does but, must not be seen to please everyone because he will fail if he does that. On the last note, i hope the President leads rather being a follower. Great and successful Statesmen such as Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Martin Luther King Jnr. Kwame Nkrumah. Can anybody tell me why these leaders especially Nkrumah and J j Rawlings though being hated and villified still command huge respect and popularity among the downtrodden? Its time the President start calling the shots as the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces!

We should rather put laws in place for those who would be engage during election time and would not do their work well to be punished instead of blaming the EC. Afari Gyan can not be everywhere during the election or be doing somebody's work for him. Why is NPP not considering the fact that, though some Presiding officers did not sign some forms, the same Presiding Officer did acknowledge the results to genuine by announcing the results at the affected poling stations.

Come on NPP and your followers, please wise up and grow up in politics because politics, the game is “you win some and you lose some”. You cannot win all the time and that is what makes a country a mature one in the world of democratic forces. Dr Afari Gyan did not tilt the past election into any political party's favor. If you continue on this path, then I do foresee a very long political isolation is looming in your path. You have to rather come up with a candidate who is charismatic enough with better messaging to win the hearts and minds of the Ghanaian electorate in the future elections. This is the only viable way of win elections to return to power and threats and vilifications, character assassinations will not do the trick.
To the please NPP and your supports, please leave this man who has earned a lot of respect and credibility in the world of democratic reform alone because he did nothing wrong.
