To be frank with you, contrally to what some of us think, the average Ghanaian would vote for whoever catches their eye and they think is capable first before the tribal instinct pops in. Don't down your tribemen 'coz one has not emerged as a flagbearer yet. Everything has it's time and the patient ones always come out beaming when you least expect.

The NPP need to start working on a strategy to broaden the party's appeal to ordinary citizens of the non-Akan tribes. For starters Bawumia should be seen as a good enough flagbearer to lead the party to the 2016 elections. He should be retained for the 2020 election in the event he loses the 2016 elections. After all the late Prez Mills eventually won the presidency after two failed attempts. If Bamumia was deemed capable enough to represent the three petitioners in the hearing he should be deemed capable to lead the party. Alan is now damaged goods and should not be considered under any circumstance. Retain Nana Addo and the NPP party will fail to make inroads in 2016. Does anyone remember why Margaret Thatcher kept winning elections? It was because the Labour Party kept Neil Kinnock as their leader. He was so unacceptable that he even lost to John Major in 1992 at a time when the Tories were so unpopular. Once Kinnock was replaced by Tony Blair Labour won a landslide victory. This is not rocket science. The NPP flag bearer has to be tactically selected to increase the party's chances of electoral victory in 2016 / 2020.

What a load of tosh! The fact is Gas will always form a minority everywhere apart from in Accra because we make up a small proportion of the population of Ghana. In a nation where voting patterns run along ethnic lines, the Ga candidate will have to be truly exceptional to garner enough votes to beat an Akan or Northern candidate. Simple. Until Ghanaian politics develops to the point where issues and not ethnic background become centre stage, there is not much hope for the smaller ethnic groups. Why does every party strive for a candidate from one end of the country and a vice from another? For inclusiveness? Crap! Purely for ethnic votes. Please I am Ga... You may or may not be, but don't expose your ignorance.

Hmmmmmmmm, even Gas do not usually see the Dangme land as their 'kith and kin'. They most often feel ashamed of their heritage. For example the fore most Ga man in the NPP can not speak his own tribe language.
