The only real challenge to NDC is Alan who can appeal to floating voters and the middle class. NDC will start the 2016 victory party the day Nana is chosen to lead NPP.

No one can dispute the popularity of Nana Akufo-Addo among the NPP supporters across the country. But I do feel, both Nana Akufo-Addo and NPP have perception problems which are unlikely to change the third time.

Why can't Nana Akufo-Ado, Nana Akufo-Addo's aides, and Nana Akufo-Ado's supporters see the glaring problem that he's NOT attractive to non-NPP voters and floating voters? Like you've pointed out, the NDC and President Mahama will rub their hands with glee at the sight of Nana Akufo-Addo candidacy.

It's Dr Bawumia who offers a glimmer of hope for the NPP.

When I read on Ghanaweb last night that Nana Akufo-Addo has a birth right to be the president of Ghana, I realised the problem some leading politicians in Ghana have lost their ability to to be rational. As I said in my article yesterday (which was posted very late in the day), I cannot understand why Nana Akufo-Addo is writing his political autobiography when he is planning to contest the presidency in 2016. Is it just to raise funds for 2016 or to market himself globally, which he does not need. It's strange but true in Ghana that NPP cannot just accept that the odds are heavily against Nana Akufo-Addo. His third attempt will further divide the party. I hope I am wrong.

You should have made the point yesterday that you strongly suspect Akufo-Addo is positioning himself to stand again and that this will be an ill-advised move which will divide the party and he may, perhaps, not even win.

You didn't say that. Instead, you took some very weak middle or neutral position and ended up saying nothing concrete or substantive. You said you were just raising questions but the questions you raised were neither new nor illuminating. They didn't set any reader thinking along new lines. Many people already know that Akufo-Addo may or may not contest. Your article didn't add any new knowledge to that.

As for ghanaweb, if you complain sufficiently enough (or even insult them) for messing with your articles, they may "repay" you by posting your articles always on top of the lot and/or late in the day. Have you not noticed that with Kofi Thompson's simplistic articles? I think Kofi Thompson writes his articles directly on his smartfone while sitting in a taxi or bus or underground?

Bread,butter, affordable housing, and affordable health care would attract the Ghanaian voters who are having a tough time making ends meet - and they are many, from all the regions, from all the tribes. Meaning every tribe has to be wooed. The "Yen Akanfuor" mantra has to be sacrificed. The campaign has to be clean & well organized.
It would involve lots of hardwork. The question is does he have the energy and the temperament to pull it off. Only time will tell.
