This ship is on a humanitarian mission giving treatment to Ghanaians so the president like the former president went there to thank tour them and to tour their facilities which we should all be glad he did that but here we are with an article with twisted facts about that visit.
This article is not necessary, it's a failed propaganda by a frustrated NPP fanatic.
When Mrs Laura Bush visited Ghana Kufour who was the president then didn't wait for her to call on him rather Kufour who is the most ignorant president Ghana ever seen went to the US Ambassador's house within minutes of her arrival ignorantly saying he was there to welcome her but Sarpong and his people didn't see anything wrong with that.

Anyway, Akuffo Addo will never be president of Ghana, Mahama will be for the next 6 years so you guys will have to live with it.

Stop being a fool with your nonsense. Do you know what is called protocol? The Office of the President is a dignified position and the protocol is that, whenever any dignatory visits the country, depending on the status of the Person, he or she is meet at the Airport by his equal.

In the case of ships berthing at our ports, whether on humanitarian duties or not, they should announce their presence by paying a courtesy call to the President or in this case since it was on medical mission, paying a coutesy call to the Minister of Health. Did the President visit the ship to thank the staff for rendering medical services to the people of Ghana? Why don't you read what transpired before crapping this nonsense?

Don't confuse this ship with the Cavour ship that Rawlings visited. Read below the mission of this ship.

Prez Mahama tours Italian navy ship

President John Dramani Mahama on Monday toured an Italian navy ship that docked on Ghana’s territorial waters.

The ship, which is operated by the 30th Italian Naval Group, comes with an accompanying helicopter and a boat, which went on display on President Mahama’s visit.

The president was taken round by Commander of the Group Real Admiral Paolo Treu, who led the government team around the supply ship, Etna, the frigate, Bergamini and the patrol boat, Borsini.

The Group undertakes multiple tasks of humanitarian assistance, maritime security operations and naval diplomacy.

It also promotes Italian entrepreneurial excellence through the Italian products on board.

The Group left the shores of Ghana Monday, March 10.

The president was accompanied by the Italian Ambassador, Laura Carprini, Chief of Staff Prosper Bani and other government officials.

Where did it say anything about this ship being on a mission for medical humanitarian services?

Any of these wonderful appointees could have done that on Ghana's behalf and not the President himself. what is happening cant someone whisper to the ear of the president at all. An ordinary Naval vessel and you have our utmost personality paying it a visit. NO NO this is unacceptable. Do you know what would have happened in the opposite when a Ghanaian Naval Vessel visits Italy, I am sure it would have been some assembly man who would have been appointed to visit it. Even the Vice is too high for such a visit. Ghana's flag must be flown higher than this.
