I am also wondering about the background statistics. If he was born in 1955 and went to secondary school at 9, then he enterered Adisadel in 1964. Nkrumah was still in power. The old educational system was still in place. There were not many international schools by then but let's say he went to one because he was a dadaba (father a headmaster). If he spent 6 years before going to Adisadel, then he started primary school at age 3!!! That is unlikely in those days (1958) unless he was a child prodigy in which case he would have made his mark in a field other than politics.
The whole background info is so sketchy. We are not told when he entered Legon and when he finished his first degree. What year did he finish his Law School? What year was he a Hubert Humphrey Fellow?
The writer placed dates on his achievements from 1992 onwards but no dates were cited for his schooling. Either the writer doesn't know or he is telling lies and the dates to his Primary, Secondary, and university education may not tally.
I am interested in this because I was also born in 1955 and studied Economics in Legon even though I was agyaba and didn't go to preparatory school. But I know the year I left Legon - together with Blackman, the current VC of Legon who was in Okponglo and who attended Presec. Blackman was also born in 1955 but I don't think he started Presec in 1964! It must have been 1968, same year as I did.

Remember in those days, bright children are pushed forward and sometimes skip certain classes. In other words,if you were born in October 1955 he could have started schooling in Sept. 1960 at the age of almost 5.He may not need 6 years to enroll in a secondary school if we go by the old system. If for any case he was jumped twice at the primary school then he would need only 4 years primary education and in a situation where the father knew maybe the Principal of ADISADEL very well, then Alan could be only 9 years in September 1964 before entering form one which is in conformity with academic calender.I hope this must have been the case.Thank you.

You may be right that he was jumped because he was very brilliant. But it was not common to jump people twice in primary school. Some parents even looked down on "jumping" (promoted as it was then called) their own wards especially when they are extremely young as Alan may have been. And, as I argued, if he was jumped because he was a prodigy and a precocious child, then he would have made his mark in fields other than politics where even nincompoops can rise high. And remember that they never jumped people in that 7-year secondary school which he and I attended.
The only way this matter can be resolved is for the writer to provide us with the exact details in terms of dates. What year did he start primary school and which school, what year did he enter secondary and what year did he finish his Economics degree in Legon? Years are relevant in this case.
I do not doubt that Kyerematen may be a very brilliant guy who did very well in school throughout his studies. And his father was a headmaster which says a lot. But if someone is writing a profile of him for promoting him to be president of our country, then the person must be detailed in his profile and not leave the readers to be in doubt on any point. If the writer doesn't know, he only needs to ask the subject himself.
I seem to be interested in this because I also left Legon in 1978 with an Economics degree - the same department Alan may have been. I asked some of my mates about him and they tell me he was there around the same time as we were. But I don't know if he was my mate or ahead of me. The correct dates to his schooling will resolve the issue for me and for all.

They will tell you that NDC stole the verdict in 2008 and 2012.Only a weak mind will buy this cheap story,so how did NPP win 2000 and 2004,did they steal it?The truth is that NPP went into the general elections with a very wrong message and ineffective campaign strategy. For 2016,NPP needs unity, effective strategy,a new face and a new paradigm to win but not popular personalities.Look here, when Prof.Mills died in 2012,the NDC didn't go for a popular personality as vice president to partner Mahama. They went for a strategic candidate who can bring them more votes, focusing on the swing regions. They know that they have Volta and the 3 Northen regions so if they win in all the 4 swing regions,NPP will have to struggle for the remaining 2 regions. As you know, you cannot become the president of Ghana without winning Greater Accra,Central and Western regions. So now, what will NPP do to win all the swing regions? That's the question.Thank you.

its a pity ghanaians have this type of thinking that an older person is not appropriate to be at the helm of govt. when nations are moving forward with good planning and sacrifices from its leaders, we ghanaians sit in our various homes and write just anything. what has age got to do with running a govt and getting the nation moving forward as the rest of the world. The president said in his campaign message that a new generation has come to take over from the old and what do we see.those calling for Nana Addo`s substitution because of his age should be ashamed of them selves and put on their thinking cap . just about two weeks ago, Algeria went to the pools and their president who was in a wheelchair at the age of 77yrs was seeking his forth term of office. we need courageous and intelligent leaders who can take bold decisions and dame the consequence.ghana need a leader who for eg can march his father to prison if he faults the law of the land and not the one who will pass through the back door or use his influence to save his head.can Alan Kyeremateng send his brother to prison as you said in your other article with all the accolades you gave him, pretending to create the impression that Nana Addo is a monster. he lost the election on a lot of factors including his integrity .when the propaganda machine of the ndc was tearing him apart, did you do anything to defend him as you are doing for Alan now?.let us stop this damaging concept of age and allow the delegates to decide on that day of the conference .if Alan is elected so be it but people should stop talking about age it is childish.
