As a woman, you can achieve everything in the world if you are unable to fulfil your ministry as an incubator and be fruitful, forget it. Go around the world and ask all the women who have achieved greatness like Oprah, they will tell you there is none like having a peaceful marriage home. Don't get me wrong, you are not asked to stay married in an abusive and violent relationship.But like the arc bishop preched in another message, don't rush to judge the action, care to take everything into account before judging.

It confers privileges, it is not a necessity. Many people are enjoying privileges associated with marriage, such as companionship and the sharing of one's self and property, without the appropriate sanctions of marriage.
If marriage is viewed as a community affair, and the privileges marriage confers are limited to sex, marriage will be put in its proper perspective. Maybe people who violate regulations associated with marriage will be sanctioned much like people are sanctioned for driver's license violations. There must have been a reason for its institution in the first place, which I bet is not status symbol.

I agree that the Bishop was preaching a biblical message and therefore could never have been rational in the modern context; but isn't it too much to suggest that the only means by which a woman is validated is to be a wife or a mother? How many women have profited from the mere fact that they are wives or mothers?
To me, the greatest setback of any woman is that he becomes a wife and a mother. Those two functions are the causes of women's backwardness.

He even used a prank video of a newly wedded Chinese couple on their honeymoon as a true story. In the prank video, the beautiful wife begin to undo the artificial make up (false eye lashes, breasts and wig showing she is bald)and resulting in the husband collapsing. Only a damn fool will believe that as a true story and use it in the house of God to degrade women.

Dr SAS, I beg to differ with you that the greatest setback of any woman is that of becoming a wife and a mother. That is true if and only if it is at the wrong time and with the wrong person. Of course, I accept that there are very few marriages that there is full equality between husband and wife but in today's society there are marriages that some form of shared responsibility is present. I also appreciate that marriage and motherhood retard the progress of women professionally but not the greatest setback.

The greatest setback for women are men who put barriers in the way of women and oppress them. If men such as Duncan Willimas change their behaviour towards women and see women as equal partners in life, society will be far better of for us all.

Instead of encouraging young women or women in general of becoming professional women in science, technology, engineering, arts/design & math (STEAM) fields, and be true providers/contributors to their society, the pastor is advising them on how to “serve men”.
I have no doubt that some foolish women go to him to pray for them to find husbands as he claims because of course if they are being fed this stupid preaching by him and other pastors like him, then what would you expect. The psychology of these pastors is all about making people dependent on them for "thinking" that the members could have done themselves, the pastors make them vulnerable by messing with their psyche and then siphon money from them.
It is a wonder that the women who were at the church allowed themselves to be debased like that, I know for sure my professional daughters and nieces would have walked out in protest.
The Jews have themselves moved away from the Judaism time of the Old Testament and won’t tell their daughters/women the bull that is being preached to our women and that is why Israel is more advanced than Ghana. I wonder why Duncan Williams did not emphasize Jesus’ view of marriage and divorce instead; of course not because the one in the Old testament serves his purpose.
The irony of the whole preaching is that this guy is married to an American, who is forward thinking and does not believe in any of the bull he is preaching. Isn’t he taking “abrofosem” daily in his marriage and seems to be proud of his woman? Go figure!

No man on this earth is 'anointed'. Jesus himself warned us about these false prophets and Duncan-Williams is a classic example of what Jesus warned us about.

This 'awam' "man of God" is no better than the armed robbers we have in our midst robbbing people of their hard earned possessions/wealth, killing innocent people and raping wives and young women they come across in their atrocious endeavours.

Duncan-Williams uses the pulpit and the bible as his weapon in robbing people of their money and possessions while on the other side of the equation the armed robbers use guns, knives, cutlasses as their choice of weapons.

In the final analysis, these two classes of thugs end up taking something that doesn't rightfully belong to them.
It's only the modus operandi that is different.

One is a slick, loudmouth snake oil salesman who has 'polished' his tactic that his victims and preys don't even realize they've been robbed; while the other uses brute force, intimidation and committing of atrocities to achieve the same goal.

You can have his back all you want, I for one don't give a shit because it's not going to be my funeral but yours when he finally leads you to the slaugther house and sacrifices you as the sacrificial lamb.

And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."
God’s law was not, that a man should forsake and abuse his wife whenever he had a mind to it, or wives “taking orders from a man” but that he should rather forsake his father and mother than his wife; that he should cleave unto his wife, living and staying with her. Here Jesus talks of a partnership in marriage and not the stupid stuff that you are clinging to from the Old Testament.

Once that clown opens his mouth and starts prancing around, with the TV cameras rolling, you knew his spiel was meant for national consumption and not just the women in his congregation.
If you thought any differently, then my friend, you are more naive than you are letting on.

Every woman across the nation was 'assaulted' by D-W's assertion that marriage should be an "all-is-well that-ends-well" approach to a woman's goal in life.

In this day and age when we have women scientists, doctors, engineers, pilots, astronauts and what have you contributing to world in their various fields, and you think that "poof" was right to ask women to consider marriage as their ultimate goal in life.

Are you for real?
Marriage should be left as personal and individual choices for both men and women. Nobody should be forced into a marriage... not by parents or self-styled "experts" who themselves are no good role models for the institution of marriage.

More especially, no woman should be forced or "convinced" into a marriage because we still have the antiquated "brain fart" that that's the woman's place and that's all that she's good for.

If you feel that that's all what your daughters are worth, then by all means let them listen to that quack of an expert but I'll bet they are a whole lot smarter than the fake who sits on his high puritanical horse and spews out all that BS every Sunday.
And for Christ's sake, don't think that because it came out of the mouth of D-W, it should be a 'cookie cutter' formula for all and sundry.

The bible in fact has been shown to be a book of myths and despite containing a few snippets of wisdom is the product of demented, chauvinistic, women hating men who "saw god". if we should go by biblical precedent then women are less than cattle and you as an African are a slave.

if you are able to use a computer to post an article today and as an African enjoy liberty and human rights it is because the world moved away from the bible as a source of truth and humanity has moved on from the hate filled, antiquated models of the bible.

WOmen must also leave their biblical roles as slaves and pathetic beings and be emancipated to achieve their fullest potential. In truth how many women have stood by their men and raised families while the men wander off sleeping with adolescent girls, having babies outside their marriage, abandoning the role of provider to the woman etc etc. every household in Africa has men who behave this way. In fact more African women play the male role of "provider" in their households than men. To insult women who contribute their brains and efforts to society but because they do not submit to a man as rotten is as antiquated and useless as the bible which this pastor claims his authority emanates. it is about time Africa follows the example of europe and discard this primitive Judaic fable and meagre understanding of the godhead and seek the true emancipation of all humans.

According to Genesis God punishes Eve for her part in the eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil by condemning womanhood to birth pains for eternity. Not only was this pointless edict enforced by the Christian church over many centuries as they refused women access to improved maternal care and delivery but the christian church actively opposed the use of anesthetics on pregnant women to ease their birth pains in the early 1900's - research this topic on Google. however despite the opposition of the church and priests all over Europe and america to this vital medical intervention, the world rejected the biblical edict in genesis and today many women give birth without excruciating pain and the result is more successful births and reduced maternal mortality compared to the primitive times that the bible was considered the law. what is more critical is that the bible displays a total ignorance of our biological world!!! all mammals including whales experience birth pains in the process of delivering their young! however the bible as relevant as you claim it is, doesn't tell us that god blessed all mammals with the same birth pains that humans experience??? how does the bible reconcile the birth pains experienced by humans to the birth pains experienced by mammals?? what eternal sin did mammals commit to deserve this "curse" from jehovah??????? i await your response.

second example is close to home and is about the 500 year history of African enslavement by Christian European countries justified and supported by the "bible". History has recorded as fact that all the european nations that participated in the african slave trade and previously in enslaving their own people as well as jews and arabs and other "pagan' peoples in their own backyard were theocratic countries ruled by the law of the church based on the bible. this simply means that the 500 year era of african enslavement by Europeans was given moral and legal backing by the christian church and the bible. if you are not afraid google "thornton stringfellow" and read his biblical justifications for slavery. he was a baptist minister in America during the time of abolition and he essentially revealed the truth of the bible. it does not carry a single emancipatory statement regarding slavery, not even the so called son of god made a single statement against the practice of slavery even though it was very prominent in his day (remember one of his disciples allegedly cut of the chief priest slaves ears when they were sent to arrest Jesus)!!! Had Europe not broken the hold the church and its "bible' had on them Africa would still be in the grips of the Christian slave traders from Europe and their converted christian African counterparts (research the history of Portugal's slave trade with Congo to further understand this. The Congolese king was converted to Christianity but still collaborated with the pious Portuguese Christians to engage in slavery)how relevant was the bible then??????

There are a number of real men who share everything with their spouses. The man of God can keep his secrets. I sat in that sermon and I did not like it as a woman. Not all of us go to him to seek husbands. Who needs a husband who keeps secrets from his spouse, and apparently that is what the good man of God would provide. Real men trust their women and they are respectful to them. They don't say "it's none of your business" They say "My love, I'm sorry but I must keep this confidential" That is what my man(a real man who obeys God) would say. I serve my spouse like a King not because he is a man, but because he treats me like a queen. Women are submissive when they are treated right as human beings.
I will urge my fellow congregants to ignore those pieces of advice form Papa. If Papa's advice to men works, it should have worked for him too!
This is Action Church, our actions should speak louder than words.
And please dont say the good man was speaking only to his congregation. He gets reported and the whole nation reads what is reported.
