  Desmond, you are certainly moving in the right direction.
  
  Here are two more activity types to consider:
  
  CURIOSITY
  Scientific discoveries often are initiated by curiosity.
  Train the kids to be curious about nature, their surroundings, life, how gadgets work, etc.
  We take a lot for granted but curious observations could be triggers that eventually lead to discoveries:
  
  why is the sky blue? why do we dream? why are planets spherical? why do we have two eyes? how is the television able to recreate pictures? what causes headache? how does paracetamol know where the pain is? what is the sun made of? And so on.
  
  For, we are surrounded by thousands of seemingly inexplicable marvels!
  
  BRAINSTORMING
  The second habit to inculcate in the young is brainstorming, the act of letting the mind wander in the forest of possible solutions to a problem.
  
  Every invention or an innovative solution to a problem is preceded by a mental process.
  Thus the young should be made to practice creativity ON PAPER. Provide them with challenging scenarios and let them put their thoughts or even designs, on paper. For example:
  
  "Think of all the ways you can use solar energy to make life comfortable".
  
  "What can you build to prevent women from carrying loads on their heads?"
  
  "In what ways can you use a smartphone for education?"
  
  "Design a machine to pound fufu"
  
  These seemingly simplistic activities can lead to great things in the future, trust me.
