After brushing his teeth each day with Akpeteshie in his RAT hole this asshole talks as if governance is like a walk in the park. There is a sting in the tail of what Prof. Martey said. Were it to be that easy it would have been already been solved.

Ahootan is like a dog in the manger whose tissue of lies runs faster than the movement of his thick lips. Ahootan’s capacity to seek or find the truth is akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. Are the Americans and English people going to conjure energy to quench the taste of our dumsor? In the absence of a better alternative or quick fix should we wait and prolong this perennial dumsor or make do with what is availabe?

This idiot and his ilk have forgotten that their Mate Meho forebears with Busia in the lead were vehemently against the building of Akosombo dam which still remains our largest source of energy. This Born fool has forgotten that Bui dam which was part of the SYDP would have been completed in the early 70s had his saboteurs Mate Meho with their CIA accomplices not arrested our economic and industrial development in 1966. General Electric to produce 1,200 Megawatts of powerAmerican multinational giant, General Electric (GE), says it is ready to roll out its Ghana 1,000 power project.

The $1-billion project will lead to the establishment of a 1,200-megawatt thermal power project in the Western Region.

The Global Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GE, Mr Jeff Immelt, called on President John Dramani Mahama at the Peduase Lodge yesterday to brief him on his company's readiness for the commencement of the project.

The meeting was a follow-up to President Mahama’s visit to the United States of America (USA) where he attended the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit in Washington, DC, in August last year.

During the visit, GE revealed that it wanted to make Ghana a major hub for its power business in Africa.

The project will be completed in September 2016.

The Ghana 1000 power project, which GE is initiating in conjunction with Endeavor Energy, Eranove (formerly Finalisation), Sage Petroleum and the Ghanaian government, will create the largest integrated gas power project in sub-Saharan Africa.

The project, when it comes on stream, will drastically cut down the cost of electricity and enhance stability in power supply.

It will include a floating storage and regasification unit to facilitate the importation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for power generation.

President Mahama thanked GE for its significant investments in the power sector.

He said even though the project was called the Ghana 1,000 project, the country expected about 1,200 megawatts of power from the thermal facility.

“This will be the single largest injection of power into our transmission grid in history," he said.

The President said the fact that the first phase of the project would be LNG driven was consistent with the government's efforts at diversifying the sources of fuel for power production.

For many years, Ghana’s over-reliance on hydro has caused the nation dearly.

The investment is being made in the context of the Millennium Challenge Compact.

“We also see it in the context of President Obama's power Africa project, which then means that with a project like GE’s, we can leverage American financing to be able to execute this project to enhance Ghana's energy security," the President said.

He said power supply had become the most binding constraint on Africa.

He added that the President of a West African country sent a special envoy to him last Monday requesting for standby generators from Ghana, since the water level of their main hydro power dam had dropped substantially, which meant that it was not only Ghana that was suffering from energy challenges.

He said many memoranda of understanding had been signed to provide additional power to resolve the current crisis.

Mr Immelt said GE was making good its commitment to improve Ghana’s energy sector.

He said GE was committed to the implementation of the “Ghana 1,000” project, which was expected to be inaugurated in the third quarter of 2016

General Electric to produce 1000MW power

American multinational conglomerate, General Electric (GE) is to build a 1000-megawatt (MW) thermal power plant in Ghana.

The plant, which will be powered by gas, will take five years to complete. However, the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by September 2016 and will add 360MW power to the national grid.

Ghana presently has installed generation capacity of about 2,412 megawatts and dependable generation capacity of 2,125 MW. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GE Ghana, Mr Leslie Nelson was quoted as saying that GE will on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Energy to commence the project.

This was contained in a release copied to The Finder. He said the GE initiative, known as 'Ghana 1000', would contribute significantly to addressing the power needs of the country. He explained that the Ghana 1000 initiative is a pure Independent Power Producer (IPP) initiative, requiring no direct financial contribution from the Government of Ghana.

Mr Nelson said government’s role is essentially to create the enabling environment and a regulatory framework that would help the project sponsors to add power to the national grid quickly. He disclosed that GE would also inaugurate a new office in Accra located at Stanbic Heights (Airport City). The new office, according to the CEO, represents the company’s commitment to growing its business in Ghana.

I remember very well in 1996 when Chariman Rawlings was seeking his 2nd-term, My illiterate late Mother admonished her village folks to look back during Rawlings regime since 1981 and examine what impact had the regime done for their locality in general and in person. With fools and weaker links abound everywhere some couldn't reason about what my Mother of blessed memory was warning them about.

Immediately after the 1996 elections, Rawlings skyrocketed petroleum products prices leaving village folks in disbelief. By then my Mama used to go to Nkawkaw to buy Kerosene in gallons and sells them in bottles to the village folks. My Mama then told the village folks to travel to Nkawkaw with their bottles and go to the filling stations for their purchase which majority of them could not afford the transportation cost.

I will again stress that with fools and weaker links abound anywhere who cannot differentiate logic and propaganda messages, majority of Kwahus do vote with their conscience and not like some tribal fools whose thinking and actions are beyond comprehension.
