With the fixated mindset that the leadership of the Narcotic Peddlers' Party (NPP) is his bona fide birthright, and refusing to listen to others, the only thing left for him is to blindly drive NPP into the bottomless pit. Good leaders have a vision, foresight, listen, appreciate others, are not arrogant and know they do not know it all. The bloke Nana Addo is lacking in all these. With this huge loss of Philip Addison, we say Nana Addo and his protégés, the likes of Amoako Tuffour, Gabby Otchere Darko, disgraceful Sir John, loose talking Kennedy Agyapong ....should read this, humble themselves and sit up. Now the rub amongst all the others is that in the Welfare State that you say you reside hence your courage to be blunt about Nana Addo's leadership Messrs Afoko and Agyapong would have long since resigned whether the allegations were true or false. Whose interest are they serving their own or the greater good of the party? Answer this question if you would be so kind to: whether Mr Afoko is complicit in the recent death of Mr Mahama, can you honestly say had an incident of his brother accused of murdering a party member happened while he was electioneering to be voted for as the chairman, would the delegates have touched him with a barge pole? My guess is no! I believe as innocent as he may be the delegates would soundly and morally rejected him. Now if you hold public office in a 'Welfare State'(and the clue is in the name) and your action(s) lead to loss of life, you would have integrity and resign as you would then have brought your office into disrepute. Your supporters may not like it, they would never be able to win an argument for holding the position. The key requisite for public office is integrity! I thank God always for the values of 'Welfarestatism' as it thus that gives me the temerity to reason so.

Npp lacks critical thinkers else we wouldn't be having this disunity nonsense in the party. The very fist day Nana was elected again, I said to myself NPP should kiss 2016 good bye. Let NPP vote for Nana including Afoko, Agyapong, Allan and JAK and their families still Nana will loose. This is not a curse or dislike for the man, but gospel, mathematically and scientific truth. Npp should have been smart to elect anybody but Nana or Allan. But now by their lack of critical analysis, they are on their way to self distruction.

I'm a die-hard supporter of the grand old party of Ghana politics and my dream is to see the NPP wrestle power from a corrupt,inept and incompetent NDC administration led by a weak reluctant leader, John Mahama. Together they've been a complete train wreck for this nation.
The nation of Ghana is bleeding profusely and so in dire need of a disciplined but gentle leader gifted with vision of the total work before him who can visualize what must happen to get the desired results. He considers all of his resources, potentials and capabilities collectively in his mind's eye and sees what marvelous and magnificent things could happen when the total work force is mobilized unitedly. He then goes to work to accomplish the goal having the ability to communicate his vision to those around him in a convincing way so that others also are enlisted to the cause. Yes, the 're-building and reconstruction of Ghana is a just and noble cause but not a project.
I saw that leader in Nana Akuffo Addo but I'm very disappointed. With the factions that have crept into the party hierarchy I thought under his unique leadership and guidance the feuding factions would coalesce into a single united party. Instead under his watch the cracks have not only deepened but widened. Nana has failed to help every leader to feel they have a real part in the cause. I'm so sad that as the leader he has failed to also realize that when people are involved in a united way they achieve results they hardly dare dream. How could he fail to realize that the unwillingness to listen to both sides of an issue or source of discrepancy means that he's unaware that it's a pretty thin pancake that has only one side.
If Nana has ears let him listen now. It's pretty late but not too late.

You could possibly fault him for the cacophonic noises his distant relatives used to make, but you cannot honestly fault him for the problems that Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong have faced since the death of Mahama. By the way, what did they do for the 18 months before Mahama’s murder?) I believe that you live in the UK. Do you honestly believe that party leaders in the UK involved in the kind of altercation that preceded the brutal murder of Mahama would still be in office today? In that situation, do you believe that Nana Addo, a lawyer, should feel comfortable hob-knobbing with the duo? I personally sympathise with him because in that particular situation, he find himself between a rock and hard place.

With respect to the “spoils of office,” I agree with you that both sides are being myopic because as our people say “wonndae woso dae?” NPP has to win office before there will be jobs to share in the first place. If indeed there is and Agenda 2020, then the people that are proposing/ supporting it must be the most idiotic bunch in Ghana because if the NPP cannot defeat this corrupt and incompetent government in 2016, they should kiss any notion of government good-bye for the next twenty years!

When Kufuor was awarding gold medals to candidate Mills, he did not realise that he was nailing his own party’s coffin. His notion of “corruption was a matter of perception ”, Harona Esseku’s “the ten percent goes directly to the Castle”, his open support for Alan Kyeremateng and crude loyalty to his nephew Anane were the major contributory factors in the NPP’s loss in 2008, and we all know what happened in 2012.

The case of Addison’s loss is the weakest in your argument. What exactly did you want Nana Addo to do? That is a clear tribal matter. Addison could have been born and bred in Accra, but just as happens in the Volta and three northern regions, there was no way Addison could win that primary. Perhaps Nana Addo could have talked his lawyer out of it, but I guess being a democratic party, Addison had as much right to stand as the fourteen or so “no-hopers“ who stood for the party’s flagbearership election in 2007!

Finally, I advise that next time make your views known to Nana or the party elders, because washing your party’s dirty linen in public does not do it any favours!
