Congratulation prof for putting politics aside and put Ghana first for seeking justice and demand transparency in our oil find resource which our govern administration is causing financial loss to the country for not being truthful to is.Nevertheless it is nauseating for Ghana to bear the cost of maintenance and purchases of broken spare parts which we have only 10% stake in our own resources and those that has majority of the share pays nothing and also criminally connive with criminals in NDC govern government dupe Ghana of $6 billion while we lack common basic things like portable water,Beds for our hospitals,Desks for schools and operation treater and surgical equipments and MRI instruments to save lives and our president who don't have the love and passion the country development gleefully see the money give away and steal the rest.Prof thank you for fighting to bring transparent and rot perpetuate by our criminal president who never satisfy for stealing our money.

2. GIGS used actual Oil Production data (barrels of oil produced) to estimate the $6 billion-plus oil revenue loses over the lat 5 years.
In other words, if there are any "hypothetical figures", they will relate only to the estimate of the projected $6 billion loss. (The lose GIGS projected are conservative estimates).
Peace!

Prof Lungu,
That's a fast rebuttal and, as usual, a darn good one at that. The claim of GIGS using hypothetical figures needs to be further clarified though, as the fact is, the calculations were actually based on true figures of oil lifted released by the powers-that-be, unless what they have been putting in the public domain were faked ones. The cost per barrel used had consistently been lower than the world price at the time, so the loss could be even higher. Or, are they receiving far less per barrel than the market price? Why? It bespoke of the abysmal lack of transparency prevailing in dealings so far for the Hon. MP to make such claims. Anyway, why be concerned with exploration, production, etc, costs when under PSA, that's not the concern of the Sovereign oil owner??? Who cares about their heavily inflated, padded costs??? Clearly, that Committee is still "uninformed by default" about how PSAs operate, to put it mildly.
As for those captives in those so-called think thanks who have been receiving those puny sums from the Oil Lobby and therefore think they owe the FOCS a duty of care by doing their biddings - in the manner of he who pays the piper calls the tune - if they are credible and have any reputation at all and know the true facts which the rest of the Ghanaian public does not know and is not expected to know according to GOGIG Transparency Guidelines and command (we thank the British Govt mightily for continuing to nurture their form of honesty in public affairs in their neo-colony), they could at least issue a dismissive rebuttal - like we don't and can't waste our time responding to ignorant fantasists - when challenged, being the high and mighty men of letters and learning, breed, or whatever, that they think they are? Or, is it because they'd find it hard to deny taking money from the Oil Lobby, just as practically all media houses and journalists of note who are receiving free courses, home and abroad, and funding from the same sources through Star Ghana, for instance, and so have also been mute and refusing to publish what the FTOS-Gh PSA Campaign has been releasing? Or the latter is also privy to the "true costs"?
