  The writer has touched a nerve center that is a sacred topic in our society.Fisrt and foremost,our culture frowns on mental health issues,second our culture teaches us men are supposed to be tough and not affected by "small things" as personal problems.Third,if this guy were to confide in his superiors,they may think he is trying to avoid work or at best giving flimsy excuses for his bad luck in life.Thirdly,our armed services in Ghana have no such structures in their units to identify very vulnerable ones as this unfortunate Police officer until it gets too late!

  Some families have mental problem and when our security services are recruiting people they should make some research into their family background. One Amuzu murdered his own mother in 1967 with a machete before my very eyes at Accra New Town. I am of the view that the murderer police officer and suicide man is the grandson of the same Amuzu.
