No matter how abhorrent one thinks Agbenu's views are, an old man like CORNEY is expected to use decent language to point out the faults in the argument.

That is wrong on his part. And that's what must be pointed out to him. Some of us don't think that's best done by calling him names. He has the right to support any party he likes but it should not be built on lies against a particular people.

Besides, he had let out many tell-tales utterances and even write-ups that showed him to be a pseudo-Asante, since I actually think he is an Ahanta from the BA. They claim Asante ancestry, though their roots actually came from captives who were re-settled there by the various Asantehenes after the fall of Techiman to provide provenance for the royal houses,i.e., growing crops and hunting. There is no way bona fide Asantes could be re-settled in that manner like common slaves.
Anyway, such Ahantas are among the most virulent ethnocentric elements in the NPP. Proper Asantes who knew their history are more mellowed and even valued their friendship with Ewes, particularly Anlos, whom they knew were their traditional allies in the past.
The son of one such person made me to go and greet the parents in Kumasi when I was going to collect data in 1992. He said Ewes were the role models for his father, for reasons he couldn't explain, except for his experiences with them at UAC.
And when another such family discovered that their great grandmother, a wife of Asantehene Karikari was from the VR, I couldn't keep up with the weekend invitations to attend this event or the other here in London. I knew them from Norway too. As you know, as for the Asantefuo, they like "agoro" paaa! Nana, their patriarch, did his PhD on the genealogies of the Asantehenes. Some weeks ago we chatted on Tango.
