Mr writer, you are apparently in your sixties so you should know better than anyone else. In the past, which tribes would you have associated the term 'watchman' or 'labourer' with? Certainly not an Akan. Most of these people were of Northern descent. Ewes and Krobos also travelled to these Akan areas to seek greener pastures and ended up as mostly carpenters and farm hands respectively. Until I travelled to the UK, all British people looked the same to me. At a factory that I worked, the majority of workers were predominantly foreign but there were a few number of local whites too. After getting myself into an unsavoury argument I realised the white workers were either Irish or Scottish. The English would not be seen doing such menial jobs. 'Hmm' I thought, 'so this thing is here too!'
No matter what you do, certain tribes in any given geographical region will look down on worker tribes or conquered tribes in that region. It is so in almost every region in the world and the only sure way to bridge that gap is to better yourself through education if you are being looked down on. There is nothing wrong to feel superior over someone and one shouldn't be made to feel ashamed or apologise for it. Such superiority is usually achieved through hard work and education. This can be found right in homes where there are sibling rivalry due to achievers and non achievers. In this world, we have first, second, third world countries etc. The first and second world countries look down on third world countries all the time. The point I'm making is if Osafo Marfo said this or Kuffour said that, there would have been a superiority underpinning to their statements. There is no reason to put him on trial for believing in himself and the foundations laid down by his forbears. You can sit on the wall and wail as much as you like as that is exactly the reaction of people with inferiority complex! In the past, the Americans, Europeans, even we Africans -the cheek- looked down on the Chinese. Is that still the case? A resounding no! How did they get to where they are today? Through education and hard work. Ewes, Northners, Gas and other minorities should rather strive through education to be as achieving as these Akans. Stop bashing them and rather concentrate on bettering yourselves. We all know that Zongo areas are the worst slums you could find anywhere in Ghana. Where do these people come from? Why is the whole place thronged with kayayeis and okada drivers? Where do they come from? If you are dirty you are dirty, don't take it out on anyone for expressing that fact. You should look inside you and see where you are going wrong my friend.

Truth must be told. In my school days in Tamale, a girl who came to form one from Ashanti Region said she heard northerners had tails but she was surprised that wasn't true. It was early ´70s and the Headmaster was from Akwapem tribe. Of course we did not kill her but we wanted to teach her a lesson. For the ingenuity of the Headmaster she would have left the school out of frustration. She finished school though but I know she learnt a lesson. Many other Ashanti are our friends even till this day and are doing well in their endeavours in the North and other parts of Ghana. Clement must have gone and is enjoying his stay in Obuasi so also are some Ashanti friends of old. I know them from school and we are in our 60s but we socialize well. But for the Ashanti who is in the South the Nort isn't Ghana enough and its people are sub-human. Remarks we hear in public places in the South are nothing but worrisome. These same people don't see things differently when they find themselves in Europe and America and want to be treated like any other white man.

Asantes have been at the receiving end from NDC tribalism from1979 to 2000 and 2008 to 2016.
Only 4 ingenious Asantes are in the 250 Ghana medical students in Cuban scholarship. The rest of the 20 Asante representation are the Seidu's, Ablorh's, Nutsugah's, Mahama's, Inusah's, Dzobgenuku's etc who live in Asante Region.
There is no Asante minister in Mahama cabinet. He hurriedly brought in Dr Agyeman Mensah to make the numbers. Dr Agyeman, everybody knows, has no mouth in cabinet.

Publish the names of the Regional Coordinators in the 10 regions. 8 are from the North.

So what did Dr Kofi Awoonor say in his book that Asantes should not be entertained in the Police, Civil Service as they're too powerful. So that was why Rawlings killed ASANTE judges & soldiers & persecuted their business? So that was why Kufuor was haunted?. What Kwame Nkrumah sought to do was to unite Ghana by making one flag, one national pledge and one national anthem among others. Nationality was important to him because it promoted development and growth in a nation and that he extended to the whole of Africa. The axiom, united we stand, he recognised is very important in nation building and growth. Look at Europe. Because someone wants to win power at all cost, and continue looting national coffers, the NDC believes in creating division in Ghana. Look at Rwanda, this is the mentality, i am better than the other and with people cramming it down throats, that created their genocide. Ghanains, are we idiots? Do we forever want to remain third rated, retrogressive and retarded because we cannot see beyound the divisive intents of the politicians? Are'nt we more than the politicians who are destroying our economy, industries, fiscal environment, salaries are nothing to write home about? But look at us, our leaders, as educated and literate as they are, are still working with Ashantis and Northerners disrespecting each other and so on. Why don't they try to bridge the educational, industrial and economic gap so tribalism and poverty will become a thing of the past? So my technical expertise will be of great importance to the building of another region's economy so respect will be earned and not demanded for? Then i will not stay in my hamlet and conclude people from tribe B do not respect. It is sad that we are being manipulated to destroy each other so the politicians would stay in power. Koku Anyidoho should stop this. He will not stay in power and enjoy employing divisive tactics that will bring Ghana down our heads. Let us respect each other and appreciate the uniqueness each tribe brings to the country. I hope we are able to move past the politicians' mess and progress. Remember divided we fall, united we stand. Ghana is bigger than NDC, NPP, CPP, PPP ETC. And God is the overlord of Ghana. We shall overcome persons like Koku Anyidoho. We will not erupt into war.
