  Tribalism should not be the basis upon which Samuel Jinapor's rumoured appointment to the position of deputy chief of staff should be criticised.
  For me, Jinapor is quite young for the position of deputy chief of staff. This is a position that has oversight supervision of all ministers and ministries. It therefore means that in the event that the chief of staff is unavailable, we would expect Jinapor to steer the affairs of cabinet and I don't see what expertise or experience Jinapor will bring to bear on seasoned people like Prof Frimpong Boateng, Alan Kyeremanteng and the likes of Ken Ofori Atta, Hon Osafo Marfo and Dr Afriyie Akoto.
  Of Significant consideration is the history of John Mahama's administration which had appointees of John Jinapor's peers who were labelled as 'babies with sharp teeth " whose arrogance largely contributed to the defeat of the JM administration. The NPP can therefore not afford to tread on the slippery path that could usher in the same prescription of defeat. We need an assembly of high calibre of experienced technocrats equal to what we saw under JA Kufour , to assist Nana Addo to deliver on the promises he made to the good people of this country.
