Instead of accepting responsibility for the illegal and fraudulent actions of dishonest MPs, and calling them to account, like a pack of hyenas, the trolls on social media and the mass media in Ghana deliberately misdirect the issue and blame the Commissioner for highlighting breath-taking wrongdoing. This behaviour is systemic. The bigger picture translates that most of these misguided people are too blind to see the reality that their representatives are dishonest and so they will continue to be losers and ne’er-do-wells. Simply because the masses are too ignorant and too blind to recognise the truth when it is in front of them.

Jon Benjamin understood the Ghanaian mentality well because he genuinely loved Ghana and was crazy about the Black Stars of Ghana. I for one, I'm sorry to see him leave Ghana after his tour of duty because he has been one of the best British High Commissioners that we have had in recent times. Kudos to the writer for not being an "ostrich" like most of us Ghanaians. It is shocking how we Ghanaians seems to have lost our moral centre when it comes to important things that affect us.
More distressing is when our MPs and degree holding Ghanaian professionals especially some Ghanaian lawyers, join the mob to spit fire on Jon Benjamin on this issue.
Sad to say l have resigned myself to the fact that most of our MPs' have no sense of parliamentary and governance ethics, and a good number of our lawyers have no clue about legal ethics or international law and diplomacy.
As for the deputy majority leader and the likes of Afenyo Markin, their stance on this issue makes me worry about the moral locus of the NPP government and its MPs.
All said this issue is not about politics or political colours or "colonialist mentality". Most of us Ghanaians are cheats, liars and immoral, and l guess some street smart foreign diplomats like Jon Benjamin realise that. Jon Benjamin thus in this instance has taking steps to keep our feet to the fire so that this particular matter is not swept under the carpet, the way we are used to doing things in our country.

Even Kuffour is as guilty as sin as far as these schemes are involved. He perfected the scheme by using his presidential jet as TRO-TRO to TRANSPORT ADRO CHOPPERS to overseas.

ASANTEHENE
1) The Asantehene is WANTED in Canada for FRAUD.
2) He DARE NOT GO TO HOLLAND for VISA / IMMIGRATION irregularities. He also includes ADRO CHOPPERS in his entourage.
3) In Norway he secretively sells golden jewelry and blame it on "theft"

Jon Benjamin did nothing wrong by pointing out fraudulent activities by these MP's who are expected to live above reproach. Do you just start condemning a person without even knowing the facts or without giving reasons why somebody is wrong? That is exactly why these ignorant Ghanaians are doing casting aspersions on innocent Jon Benjamin and it is an indictment on the intelligence and common sense of those indulging in this invidious character assassination of Jon Benjamin.
