Afriyie Acquah was a late replacement for Alfred Duncan in the Black Stars squad to face Sierra Leone after the latter could not recover from an injury.
Duncan according to close sources was invited for the game against the Leone Stars.
The midfielder earned a call-up before injuring himself at Sassuolo.
The 25-year-old missed Sassuolo’s League game against Empoli over the weekend.
The former Ghana U20 star has been consistent in the Italian Serie A for the past two seasons.
