  Traditional Medicine can be good but we need to be very careful with it because they are not scientific and their dosages cannot be proved to be accurate and reliable. For example, if I go to Traditional Medicine person with the complaint of a Headache or Stomachache, I am given a big Calabash of a concoction of different herbs to drink without knowing the chemical reaction between the herbs boiled together and the quantities given to me, as well as the severity of my ailments at the time. And I am 64 years old. If my 12 year old son goes to the same place with the same ailments, he is given the same dose without any lab work on him, and also the chemical reaction between the herbs that have been boiled. Traditional Medicines can be good but can also be very dangerous. It is good we can use it to compliment what we may be already taking, we need to make them more scientifically approved and not also use it in conjunction with other medicines, especially the Western Medicines. More care and diligence should be taken in using them.

Just believing something works doesn't mean it actually works. The government needs to establish laboratories with main goal of testing the potency of herbs. Remember, those herbs have chemical contents and can kill you so there needs to be tested and approved before integrating into the health service. How can yoi trust Ghanaians to be truthful? Very soon berbalists will be paying bribes for their harmful medicines to be included in the health services. Nothing beats science. I like herbal medicine but the good old herbs that cured almost everything are all lost. We used to have a medicine for boils called 'tinkalɔ', it worked like magic but try it now, it doesn't work anymore. The point i am trying to make is that there are too many fake herbal medicines and spirituality infused healing around, but they are actually causing more harm than good, killing people. Fake western medicines in Ghana are already killing us so we want less of harmful things. Because of the lack of properly trained health workers and fake medicines, you easily discard western medicine if you live in Ghana but those living abroad can testify the benefits of western medicines. I am not suggestern we should throw away what we have but there needs to be rigorous testing into their potency before use.

  Please Ghanaians with Chronic Diseases like Hypertension Diabetes and Cancers, herbal medicines can't treat them. If you take herbal medicines and you realise your condition is not improving, go back to Orthodox. You don't allow yourself to be manipulated and loose all your finances before seeking help at the hospital and clinics, because by then the doctors and nurses whom you claim aren't performing well at their jobs, can't help you. Your situation may be a hopeless one whereby they can only do the little they can. It has happened to my family members, friends and some people I know. Ghanaians should take their lives and health issues very serious. Don't allow yourselves to be manipulated for someone's financial gains.

  The FDA will not allow any pharmaceutical medicines that have not passed a rigorous efficacy testing to be dispensed to the public. So why incorporate herbal medicines that have never undergone any efficacy tests? Does the FDA possess any information on the side-effects of these herbal medicines, or what persons have developed allergies to some of these herbal medicines? While it's a great idea to promoter herbal medicines, it's equally important to ensure that these medicines have undergone strict testing to ensure their efficacies before integrating them in any hospital or even sanctioning their distribution.
