CMC champions staff wellbeing with 'Rep Your Jersey' health walk

The Cocoa Marketing Company Limited (CMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to employee welfare with a spirited staff wellness initiative, the “Rep Your Jersey Health Walk,” held on Saturday.

The early morning exercise, which began at Ayi Mensah, brought together staff from the Head Office and Tema operations in a display of energy, unity, and camaraderie.

Leading the walk was Managing Director of CMC, Dr Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, accompanied by senior management and employees across departments, a gesture that underscored leadership’s dedication to staff wellbeing.

Speaking after the event, Dr Dogbey stressed the importance of prioritizing health in the workplace.

“Our people are our greatest asset. A healthy workforce is a productive workforce, and we must be deliberate about creating opportunities that support both physical fitness and mental wellness,” he said.

He further announced that the initiative will become a quarterly fixture in CMC’s employee engagement strategy.

“This is not a one-off activity. We are institutionalising it. Every quarter, we will create space for our staff to step away from routine, reconnect, and invest in their health,” Dr Dogbey added.

The walk was themed “Ensuring a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment to Improve Worker Well-being, Mental Health, and Safety,” reflecting CMC’s broader efforts to foster a supportive and balanced workplace culture.

Participants described the event as refreshing and impactful, highlighting its role in strengthening bonds among colleagues, relieving stress, and reinforcing a sense of belonging.

CMC continues to position itself not only as a leader in Ghana’s cocoa export value chain but also as an organisation that places premium value on the wellbeing of its workforce — recognising that sustainable performance is anchored on a healthy, motivated staff.
