This is the worst performing Minister in the history of Ghana,. For 2025 the health sector met tge targets of only 3 out of 21 indicators used to assess health sector performance. This means the sector performed poorly as compared to 2023 and 2024 in the usual three year trend used for holistic assessment of the health sector by government, and partners.
The fanfare with inaugurations is just for publicity stunts yet the sector might not meet any of the SDGs.
Ministers are assessed on performance and not pitching their egos against powerful professional groups,
Abandon has lost control of two teaching hospitals. The Ya Na is now the final authority forTamale Teaching and the Otumfuor for Komfo Anokye.
He might not bully the rest for long and primary health care is nothing new . Making it free is just government living up to its responsibilities in an area , donors used to fund.
What type of sector is it that 92% of government budgetary allocations go to salaries and related issues. It is left with only 8% for goods and services.
NDC should better sit up because Akandoh has started charting the path to poor results for you in 2028.

See the chps and Health Centers will refer every case to the district hospitals making the bigger facilities chocked. Patient will complain, die and hit back at NDC. Common ATs injection will be referred to hospital. Malaria injections hospital. U think the health care providers in this small facilities are happy? Mark it. The way they will manage the things erh. Any small case referal, and mind u this CHNs that u think, will be moving house to house to do screening. U think they are ready to do this with their 2500ghc salary. Ma friend think twice. They will go home with excuse of home visit and do their business. Put some figures on paper for u. At the end of the day who will go and verify their data?
