Much as I hate to see the Doctors go on strike, I can only agree with them.This is so because I for one totally disagree with the Parliamentarians who, when it comes to sharing Ghana's money agree without any oppostion to rape the country. They do as if they are only ones working for the welfare of Ghana. If the law makers are prepared to make sacrifices to serve the nation, I bet all else would be prepared to do the same. They should not ask others to tighten their belts while they are extending theirs.

Somehow there is really no need for GMA to wait any longer for any minister. When GMA declared a strike in Oct 2011, they were told by late Pres. Mills to submit to institutions, which they did and went for compulsory arbitration, calling off the strike when the demands were largely unmet, much to the displeasure of most members.

The new threat of strike is bcos the same institutions to which GMA submitted are failing to keep up their side of the bargain. These institutions are functioning daily, and are still cheating doctors and making a fool of GMA. This has been going on for more than ONE YEAR. Why wait any further?? Fair Wages, National Labour Comm and Controller are the same institutions GMA submitted to. If they are still in existence virtually intact, I dont see the need for GMA to wait any further. GMA shd rather be applauded for keeping up with this for a whole year!!!

LET OUR DOCTORS GO ON STRIKE, AND LET US PREVENT OUR POLITICIANS FROM RECEIVING MEDICAL ATTENTION ABROAD AT TAXPAYER EXPENCE. THAT WAY THEY WILL UNDERSTAND THE NEED TO IMPROVE OUR HEALTH SECTOR FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL.

Shame on GMA. It's rather obvious what your motives are. Can you not wait until the new minister of health is confirmed into office.

Where is the politics?? Elections are over, how will govt be sabotaged if there is a strike?? What wud you have said if the strike was declared in November,just before the elections??

But let's check it, I believe they gave NPP government less headache even though they are better off now than before.
