Why is it okay for most of Western European democracies to be joined at their economies and social structures under the EU or for the USA, Canada and South America to form economic and military alliances and yet have Africans show our mass stupidity? Every failed African nation has had leaders who have stolen money and placed in Banking and financial institutions in those very European and nations of the Americas. Like another poster mentioned, a virus indigenous to African monkeys doesn't make its appearance in humans until the 1960s? This at the same time other diseases that originated in monkeys and apes like pubic and body lice, chickenpox, and yellow fever have been around since time immemorial?
How was it that the HIV, in the 1970s, appeared at nearly the same time among (1) central and southern Africans (2) Haitians (3) white homosexuals in the US and western Europe (3) black drug users in the US and western Europe (4) political prisoners and orphans in Soviet Union and eastern Europe? What relation did these disparate groups possess, except for being despised and alienated amongst their home populations.
My home-grown theory is that HIV was first observed in lab monkeys bred as incubators for polio or smallpox vaccine. The virus was subsequently isolated and then weaponized. Malicious governments (particularly South Africa, which is well-known to have maintained an active biological weapons program through the 1960s and 70s) then distributed the virus through tainted inoculations to
selected populations.
Now, all of this means that Africa as a continent suffers the most from
consequences of HIV, however it arrived. The most that can be said is that, if it will be eradicated or suppressed, the impetus will not come from the initiatives of western nations or NGOs.
