  In around 1989, Rawlings made a request in cash, to international body headed by former American president Jimmy Carter fot the eradication of Guinea worm Carter, who saw the transition of the fund being transfered to Rawlings then then the President of Ghana, Rawlings never use the money requested for the eradication of Guinea worm. Carter told international body that the money given to Rawlings for the purpose of eradicating Guinea worm was not done.
