It's just pathetic that the biggest social intervention programme ever introduced into the country by the far-sighted NPP administration to address the suicidal cash and carry system has within 5years of the Mahama led NDC gov't's administration, collapsed completely.
The spin and the propaganda that has attended the Mahama led NDC gov't attitude to governance issues is a direct reflection of the results we are all witnessing with the NHIS, the economy, the cedi's depreciation, the rising inflation, etc, etc.
It's disingenuous to suggest that the NHIS which currently owes members of the Ghana Chamber of Pharmacy, the Christian Health Association of Ghana, the Health Insurance Service providers Association of Ghana and for which reason, these bodies currently do not recognize NHIS cards and as a result, requires bearers of the NHIS cards to pay cash before receiving healthcare, as one at risk of total collapse.
The Mahama led NDC gov't needs to be candid and serious and admit it's failures and desist from this reckless propaganda. The verdict to all and sundry is that, the NHIS HAS COLLAPSED, IT'S NOT WORKING.
The NHIS to even the casual observer has collapsed, a clear testimony of the incompetence and ineptitude coupled with the corruption and looting and the lawlessness underpinned by propaganda and deceit. On what basis did they Mahama led NDC gov't ever think of a one-time insurance premium and can it be cited as one of the factors for the inconsistent payments from members, and also the apologetic state of the economy and the finances of Ghanaians, which has unleashed an unusually hard and unbearable cost of living on the average Ghanaian for which reason, they cannot make payments?
What about the clear disregard for the tenets of the rule of law in it's truest form by the outright refusal of the Mahama led NDC gov't to pay the NHIL as collected as stipulated by the relevant statutes?
It cannot be stressed hard enough that, the NDC gov't has never, ever exhibited any ability to perform and govern which can be proved by historical evidence, and current present circumstances and events.
In these rather unacceptable and hard economic times, how can Ghanaians be asked to embrace the cash and carry system? It's just unfathomable and it is akin to one signing his or her own death warrant, if plagued by ill-health.
Ghana cannot continue on this path of failure and retrogression. It's very bad for the health of the nation and it's important that, the Mahama led NDC gov't is massively voted out at the ballot box in 2016.

Sounds about right! The govt. can not make statutory payments and also slow in grant disbursements. What do you expect when millions of dollars are misappropriated and no one is held accountable.
