  Is not about building a state of the art building as a mental health hospital. You need the requisite staff to work there. Secondly the psychiatric hospitals all along the coast are seriously struggling to keep going. Psychiatric hospitals are history, community care, smaller units are encouraged. Northern regions do not have resources to self develop such structures, don,'t talk about government support. We have to be realistic, deal with mental disorder problems using our local resources, these are herbalist, churches, etc, who we accuse of human rights violation, yet the hospital in Accra has always violated patients rights.We need intensive education, disseminating of information , in forms of drama, radio, role play etc, engaging the community, building community drop centre using their local resources. Train some members from the communities to be able to manage themselves. Psychotic drugs are to calm and bring sufferer to talking. Let's not make a huge and grandiose plans , that will never happen. I consider this as violation of vulnerable persons rights, by not being realistic.

  Sir IT IS GOOD FOR REQUESTING A NEW PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL IN THE North but look even the other three psychiatric hospitals in the COUNTRY cannot be maintained. I s government doing about it. Has taken professor Osei all his strength to shout loud for help but all has fallen on deaf ears.
