I do not understand why some of our orthodox medical practitioners want to play god by wanting people to believe that there is nothing good in herbal medicine. Instead of cooperating with herbal practitioners to share technology for the development of various cures for our people, they denigrate herbal treatment outright.
Is it not true that many, if not most of orthodox medicines are derivatives of herbal potions and or concoctions?
The time has come for us to move away from the "slave mentality" whereby most of our educated elite find nothing good in the African.
Dr. Mensah, what do you say about the efficacy of our people in bone setting which is often better than the orthodox treatment, local mental disease treatment, treatment of some viral diseases which the western science has no answers to, and even spiritual healing of some diseases which the long study in the white man's country has not been able to give answers to?
God, the creator of all things has not endowed absolute knowledge to people of white pigmentations only, but to all His creation, all according to their circumstances and where they find themselves.
God, in His infinite wisdom knows what He was doing when he put various races in where they find themselves, giving them different climatic conditions, flora and fauna.
Our educated illiterates who have been given some titles to exclude them from their heritage should know that it is better to merge two worlds that to operate in a single world, for it is only then than they can be said to be versatile and can perform wherever they find themselves.
"Thou shall not condemn" is the dictum.

Good points my brother, leave some of these educated thieves and mental hobos who went to school for the head only. Some even claim they are Christians but have put all their trust only in doctors. There is a saying that 'the doctor binds the wound but God heals it' these are some of them who prescribe before diagnos. Some of our Ghanian doctors are threatened by the presence of our traditional herbalists hence they always see nothing good in them. I also support the idea of our government to start training these indigenous herbalists to administer with precision. These doctors should leave Ghanians alone. They only went to school to come out with a certificate, why can't he start doing some research himself to come out with the solution to the sickness rather than condemning those who are making some effort to alleviate it? If you are not a stooge, then come out with your own inventory measures to help provide solution to human needs. You can't outsmart God with your small mind Mr doctor.

Facing the fact, what are the origins of the drugs and treatments being employed by these "refined" doctors? LAZY folks who won't research further but are content receiving commissions from drug producing companies!!!

Now somebody should Doc Mensah for me that people who have prostrate disorders and have urinary catheters in their manhood get their freedom within a fortnight (21days) at a village in Nkoranza traditional area. And yea, urinary catheters are removed within these 21 days, and decoction actually provides potent cure to prostrate problems and its related ailments such painful / frequent urinations. Herbal concortions with high concentration of chemical substances may destroy the liver or the kidneys with prolong use,less than optimal concentration may not be effective either.How do Herbal practitioners measure the progress of the patient . Example, if the test result at the time of the initial visit to the hopital (PSA ,Prostate Specific Antigen test was 10 .0 0r 11.0)how does the herbalist determine if it has decreased or increased. I think those who go to the herbalist should also go to hospital for retesting in due course.The greatest problem in Ghana is the Doctor patient ratio. The work load for the doctors is over whelming and the availability of treatment centers and facilities leave much to be desired. The medication is also beyond the reach of the ordinary man. All men above 40 years should go for the PSA test at least every year. Early detection can be of great help to the individual.Some doctors are doing their best for Ghana. Some even disuss this protate problems on the radio. Our problems in Ghana are too much but folks do not give up. It wil be okay

Believe me guys, if you fool around with herbal drugs and not seek proper treatment and wait until it spreads beyond the prostate enclave ,nothing on this earth can save you from death . I know treatment is very expensive and that a lot of you guys will do everything to find the cheapest way out but , please the spread of that can cer is DEADLY. I can agree with an 80yr old who may just want to add some few years to his life span by using herbal remedy(God bless our herbalists )to shrink the enlargement , but you younger folks ,early detection by the PSA test is your best tip.
