In this Country there is a drenching penchant of willfully destroying talent with the youth the worse victims.An old practitioner sits somewhere and is brooding with morbid jealousy as to how to undermine a young doctor choking success and making giant strides in areas he or she abysmally failed.Awoonor Williams a very hard working and relatively young practitioner is an innovator and a developer.His success story is evident by the great unprecedented transformational changes he made in the region's health sector.The Upper East Regional Health Directorate transformed into a beautiful modern edifice(state of the arts building) under his able leadership was once a pungent smelling dilapidated structure infested with wild bats that hovered around even during the day at working hours.A modern state of the arts conference room of internal standards is under his leadership.The regional hospital saw drastic changes in both personal and facilities under his leadership.Yet this was the man the old villain Amiah Aduko was doing everything possible to sabotage and push out of the region by whipping tribal sentiments against him.Fortunately it was mission impossible for Amiah as the young man was his boss with his unprecedented achievement appreciated by the youth.This gem would have definitely been destroyed if he was subordinate to Dr Amiah.In the same Ghana Health Service no mean a person but the Director General Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira dubiously and fraudulently connived to implicated colleague doctors with a mental illness to sack them on tribal and political grounds.If this current government can ignore people like Awoonor Williams in favor of the clearly incompetent,corrupt and dubious Appiah Denkyira then there must be something fundamentally wrong.In other words it is extremely difficult to accept if Appiah Denkyira merit the position of DG by his conduct and records.Whiles Upper East is chocking success in health under Awoonor Williams the Upper West is still grumbling with the mess and disaster Appiah Denkyira currently the DG,GHS left behind as then Upper West Regional Director of Health.To be very frank ,Awoonor Williams per his excellent record not just in Upper East Region deserve one of two positions of Health Minister or Director General.

The Director General Dr Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira and his board acted criminally with a dubious intention of victimizing the doctors.Sacking doctors in less than a month in office without giving them audience is clear diabolic act.To claim they have a mental illness without evidence and sack them based on that is malice of the highest order.Worse still the doctors only crime was that they spoke against and reported corruption.A criminal act that took away a patient's life in Effia Nkwanta because she could not pay 50 ghana cedis bribe for blood transfusion.Appiah Denkyira's action was clearly on the bases of nepotism and tribalism to protect his Akan cronies in the western region.The government should not cover Ghana Health Service just because is a government organization.The case has been tightly gagged up at the FAST TRACK HIGH COURT since 2012 to protect the GHS which is highly unfair.
