If after several years of undeserved scholarships to these three Northern regions there is still shortage of medical doctors to this area,then the state shd scrap it.Ghana can't continue to waste its resources on them.

The problem is maldistribution of doctors and not a shortage of doctors in Ghana.
The same person does appointments for all ghana health service doctors and distributes them.
Doctors do not have conditions of service.

Doctors do not have conditions of service.
Doctors need to upgrade and attend courses to learn new trends.
Specialist training is not available in the north.
The disadvantages working far from accra and kumasi far outweigh the advantages.
The solution is in creating conditions of service for health workers

My only appeal to u is to tell ur people to stop fighting in the north for it to look attractive for drs to accept postings. Educate them to change their attitude too pls.

This is not acceptable. If doctors are trained using the tax payers' money surely the Government can give them ultimatum to serve anywhere at least for some period of time? All state trained doctirs should be made to serve time in rural areas.Those who do not want to go should refund their university fees. The money can then be used to pay additional allowances to the doctors who agree to serve in deprived areas.

They havent seen anything yet. No one will be willing to waste his or her time there. Doctors sacrifice to work there and in the end have nothing to write home about.
