Caterers under the National School Feeding Programme in the Greater Accra Region have complained that they have not been paid for their services rendered since last term September, threatening they would not continue working come next academic year in September if they are not paid.

They said several cheques issued to them by the National School Feeding Secretariat have bounced and they are at a loss why that is happening, because the cheques are Bank of Ghana Cheques.

Most of the Caterers who spoke to the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, noted that they have been forced to take loans from the banks to ensure that they cook for the students but the interest on the loans they have taken had gone up due to default payment.

The caterers maintained that the current economic challenges facing the country are affecting their purchasing power.

They disclosed that they have been receiving threats from managers of the programme anytime they complain of luck of cash.

This is where Ghana needs Dr. Arthur Kennedy, not in politics. Having abysmally failed to win both presidential and parliamentary candidate slots, he must know that politics is not for him. Instead of staying in Ghana to serve the motherland, he has relocated to the USA. This means that he has no love for the country. He is only interested in the presidency. If he wants to prove me wrong, he should come back to Ghana to serve in one of the nation's health care facilities such as the TGH.

That's what white men leaders in leadership control do. But all the concerns he has raised are true and I think Ghana government must go to their aid. I am astonished that well educated people in this forum are politicizing this important issue. What's the importance of your education when you can't think well on a simple issue like this one? In a single day the number of Ghanaians who die from the failed leadership and bad governance as well as the untoward, clueless and vision-less policies of this Mahama-led NDC gov't is in the thousands.
This runs through all levels of the socio-economic strata.
It is as disturbing as it is unacceptable when one considers pensioners dying because their pensions are in arrears and cannot afford the most basic of healthcare since the healthcare system in itself and the NHIS has collapsed.
The same can be said for pregnant women as illustrated by the Medical director of TGH, not to talk of able bodied Ghanian men and women who are dying needlessly because there are no drugs at the health institutions because gov't owes pharmaceutical and hospital durable equipment and disposable suppliers, and the country does not have a fully stocked and operational central medical stores.
The situation is the same for children and infants and pre-term infants because for the pre-terms infants the most basic of equipments such as incubators are not available and even if they are available they are either non-functional or there are no lights or dumsor, dumsor has rendered them completely useless.
The death toll alone from these factors across all the ten regions of this country is staggering and completely unacceptable and it is deeply, deeply worrying how unresponsive the Mahama-led NDC gov't has been to its responsibilities and mandate.
The death toll from such is worse than a civil war as to be described as the silent war of failed leadership on the citizenry.
Clearly there needs to be a 360 degree turn from such bad governance and failed leadership at the ballot box in 2016.
