The enlargement of the heart (Left Ventricular Hypertrophy) also occurs in people with untreated high blood pressure. The danger is, if allowed to continue, can result in congestive heart failure and even sudden death.

The problem is, the only way to know you have an enlarged heart is by ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY. Which is why we often gets surprised when able-bodied men suddenly drop dead.

The good news is when the hypertension gets reversed, the heart shrinks back with time.
