Former Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK & Republic of Ireland, Ambassador Victor Emmanuel Smith warned that the there will be fire for fire in the 2020 elections if the governing New Patriotic party brings it on.

Mr. Victor Smith has, therefore, has sent a strong signal to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is readying itself to face them boot for boot and fire for fire in that regards during the 2020 general elections.

He said the NDC will not allow the NPP to rig the elections warning they could hit back in any way possible if the NPP attempts to intimidate their members.

Ambassador Victor Smith cautioned that NDC will respond in equal measure if the NPP dares to use the apparatus at their disposal to rig the elections.

According to him, the NDC is prepared to spit fire in return and not water if there are attempts to spit fire during the 2020 elections by the governing party.

The former High Spokesperson for Mr. Jerry John Rawlings entreated members of NPP not to foment troubles when they lose the elections adding that they can try another time with proper message.

According to him, approximately 10 million Ghanaians vote during elections and out of that not less than 4 million votes for the NDC advocating for the right things to be done during 2020 elections.

In an interview with Radio 1 Ghana monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he said, ‘The people who vote in Ghana roughly 10 million and not less than 4 million votes for the NDC, we will not sit aloof in 2020 elections to be cheated, we will face NPP boot for boot, fire for fire, yes, when they fire, we will also fire, that’s what I’m trying to tell you. We won’t cause problems but don’t try to cheat us, don’t try to intimidate us. That is the signal we are sending to NPP… don’t do it lets do what is right, if you lose elections, go and sit at home, you can come another time when you have a better vision and you can implement it properly’.

The NDC which lost 2016 woefully to the NPP is planning to grab power from the latter, whereas the latter is also working hard to retain power come 2020 general elections.
